Waterfront Home + Game Garage for the Whole Family
West-facing, waterfront property featuring two separate dwellings with space for everyone. Enjoy sitting on the deck while looking at wildlife -- seals and eagles regularly stop by and, if you're lucky, Orca pods occasionally drop in. The main house has three bedrooms/2 bathrooms and the newly renovated shed has one bedroom/1.5 bathrooms. Perfect for larger groups who need extra space. The space **Experience the Best of the Pacific Northwest Right at Home** Our favorite activities are all right at the house: clamming during low tide, kayaking across the water for dinner at the Boat House followed by ice cream at Olympic Mountain Ice Cream, or simply watching rainstorms from the cozy interior. **The Space** This listing includes the main house and a refurbished shed, offering a total of four bedrooms and spacious common areas. **Main House:** - **Master Bedroom:** Faces west with stunning water views and an ensuite bathroom. - **Second Bedroom:** Features two sets of cozy twin bunk beds, perfect for both adults and toddlers. - **Third Bedroom:** Boasts a queen bed with lots of windows and water views. All mattresses and bedding were purchased in 2020. **Refurbished Shed:** - **Upstairs:** Newly carpeted stairs lead to a double queen bedroom with water views and a private bathroom. An electric kettle is provided for your morning coffee or tea. A minisplit HVAC unit ensures separate heating/cooling from the main house. - **Downstairs:** Currently unfinished, but equipped with a foosball table, basketball game, ping-pong table, and the owner's workshop. For larger groups, there's space to park an RV or a boat in the driveway. **Example Itineraries** **Day One:** - Spend the morning at the house watching the fog lift from the bay. - Drive to Twanoh State Park for a walk along the Hood Canal and a 3-mile loop trail through the forest. Try your luck at crabbing (visit the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife website for more info). - Treat yourself to lunch and a spa treatment at the Alderbrook Resort. - On the way home, pick up pizza and a growler from Bent Brine Brew Co. and enjoy the sunset from the deck. **Day Two:** - Have breakfast at one of the many waterfront restaurants in Gig Harbor (NetShed No.9 is a great choice). - Walk or drive along the boardwalk to the Harbor History Museum to learn about the area's rich history. - Return along the waterfront for a casual lunch at Tides Tavern (no kids allowed). - Head home for an afternoon of relaxation. Kayak or drive across the water for dinner at Lennard K’s Boathouse and ice cream at Olympic Mountain (seasonal). **Day Three:** - Grab breakfast at a local espresso stand and drive to the Mt. Ellinor Trailhead in Olympic National Forest. It's a challenging 6.5-mile hike to the top, but the views are worth it. Dogs are allowed on this trail. - Drive further up the Hood Canal for freshly shucked oysters (and live music on weekends) at Hama Hama Saloon. - Enjoy the car ride home and pick up takeout pizza from Seabeck Pizza along the way. **Day Four:** - Check the tide schedules and take a long walk on the beach during low tide. - Dig for clams during the lowest part of the tide. - Let them sit in a bucket of bay water for a couple of hours while you relax. - Steam them up using your favorite recipe and serve with bread. **Guest Access** This is an ideal location for a Pacific Northwest vacation. Within a 30-minute drive, you'll find historic Gig Harbor (seaside restaurants, distilleries/wineries, quaint museums, etc.), the Hood Canal (state parks with great hiking trails, Alderbrook Lodge Resort and Spa, Hama Hama Oysters, etc.), and many golf courses (Gold Mountain, Trophy Lake, Hawk’s Prairie). Within an hour, you can reach SeaTac Airport, Olympic National Park, Tacoma, and Washington State’s Capitol, Olympia. We're only 1.5 hours from downtown Seattle via ferry or driving directly on I-5, and 2.5 hours from Portland, Oregon. **Other Things to Note** Dogs are welcome at the house (a $50 per pet cleaning fee applies), but not in the refurbished shed. Please be mindful of all animals and children near the water, especially on the boat ramp, as it can be very slippery. We provide two portable cribs, crib sheets, and an assortment of children's toys and utensils to make travel easier for you. For dogs, we have a large dog bed, water/meal bowls, and a chuck-it that you may borrow during your stay. Please be respectful of our neighbors and leash dogs when on the beach.
