Experience true Adirondack summer lake- life at Bearfoot Loj. It's an easily accessible- flat walk to the sandy beach- something hard to find in Long Lake! A double kayak, rowboat, canoe and a SUP to get you out on the water. Bearfoot Loj is 1.3 miles from town. Walk/boat to the restaurants. Bearfoot Loj is on a private dirt road, quiet from all traffic. The updated small home has an open concept living/kitchen area. Fenced in lawn helps to keep children contained and away from the water. The space NOTE: July and August is a 7 day rental period with check in and check out on Saturday. The "camp" as we call them in the Adirondacks is a small but a perfect space to spend time in the central Adirondacks! Walking into the home you will be surprised by the light filled room. The smell of pine boards may still fill the air. The home is also recently renovated with new vinyl plank flooring and a tankless hot water heater and other updates. The panoramic view of the lake and mountains are always part of the inside living enjoyment with the lake just steps out the front door. The home has an open concept living/kitchen area. The bright open concept living area is sunny with sky lights. There is a smart TV and WiFi available for your devices. There is one air conditioning unit in the living room. Adirondack nights are usually cool, but two room fans are provided. The updated kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes and some staples you will need. You will enjoy the granite countertops and the breakfast bar in the kitchen. Bedrooms: Bedroom one has a memory foam queen mattress. Bedroom two has two twin beds with mattress toppers. Pillows, sheets, and quilts are provided. All are washed for each new guest. . The one bathroom has a shower with a shower head and a hand held shower head for the kids. There is no washer or dryer, but a coin operated laundromat is nearby in town along with a clothes line in the yard. Towels, soap, and shampoo are provided. Just bring your beach towels! The front deck extends the living space greatly. Meals on the deck are extra special. A small propane grill is available for grilling. There is also a fish cleaning table outside for the big day's catch! Gathering around the outdoor stone fireplace is a great way to end an Adirondack day. A fenced in lawn helps to keep children contained and away from the water. There is a sand area inside the fence that can offer hours of sand play for the little ones! To keep costs affordable, no cleaning fee is required. Home just needs to be left in the condition it was found. If left unkept, a cleaning fee will be imposed. Check in and out on Saturdays during July and August along with a 7 night stay. Guest access There is a lock box to enter the home. The code will be provided to the guest before check in time. The guests will have access to the entire home. There is a closet that has owner's belongings, yet open for guest storage too. Other things to note Things to do: Bring your own motor boat. The town of Long Lake has a free cement boat launch at Dock Rd. in town. There is plenty of space on the dock at Bearfoot to moor your boat and space to park your trailer. Boat rentals are available in town. If you do not have a motor boat- rent one! Owl's Head Mountain trail is about 2 miles away. It is a fantastic hike for all! There are many other hikes to choose from-guides to list such hikes are in the camp. Bearfoot Loj is a 1.3 mile drive to town. It is a short walk too! The town swim beach is popular with children in this area. Paddle or drive your boat to the centrally located Long Lake Village dock with a water playground and to enjoy Long Lake amenities such as restaurants and shopping. Bearfoot Loj is on a private dirt road, quiet from all traffic. The dirt road is a seasonal road, it is a road to travel slowly on. It has recently been resurfaced. Life jackets are available and must be worn at all times if using watercraft for guest use. Bring your own for best fit especially for children. Long Lake is a popular fishing lake. It is 14 miles long with so much to explore! The best fishing spot is directly in front of the camp! Bearfoot "Loj" is pronounced Lodge. It is a popular way to spell lodge in the Adirondacks due to to Melville Dewey’s idea of creating a phonetic spelling system. He is the creator of the Dewey Decimal System and founder of Lake Placid Club. Bearfoot Loj is in a very private area, yet there are neighbors. The camp itself has 100 feet of private shoreline. Once again, this is something hard to find on Adirondack lake front.
