A charming lakefront cottage, located less than 50 miles north of Manhattan, is a perfect year-round retreat to unwind and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Nestled in a private bay, you have breathtaking views and gorgeous sunsets from both inside and outside the cottage. Direct lake access within feet of the house for swimming off the large dock, paddle boarding, canoeing or kayaking in the pristine Lake Oscawana. Ideal escape for family vacation, work from home, and weekend getaway in nature. The space Please note that the maximum number of guests is six. If at any point during your stay, you intend on having more than six guests please contact us prior to booking. Any unregistered/additional guest without notification to us will force us to ask the entire party to leave our home. Features: The fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven, Keurig coffee machine, toaster and electric tea kettle. Counter stools (4) for dining. Large flat screen smart TV with access to cable TV, Prime and Netflix New furniture throughout the house; main floor has fabulous views of the lake from the kitchen, living room, bedroom (queen bed) and dedicated work space. Main floor bathroom has large walk in shower, this is the only shower indoors. Downstairs has walk out access to the covered living space and includes bedroom (queen bed), living area with flat screen TV, half bathroom and bunk area (two twin bunk beds). Enjoy multiple outdoor living areas including dining table and chairs on main level deck, covered living space with couch and chairs under the deck, two lounge chairs in the grassy yard and four Adirondack chairs on the dock. During the warmer months, there is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Our house is kid friendly equipped with mini crib, high chair, Stokke Flexi Bath XL with infant insert (to bath in shower area) and toys/books. Guest access Guests have private access to the entire house as well as free Wi-Fi, parking, and central A/C. Outside guests have access to non power water sports: one canoe, two kayaks and two stand up paddle boards. Propane BBQ on deck off main living area and fire pit with firewood provided The cottage is a short walk to a park with a swing set and slide for children. Other things to note Things to do! Cold Spring is a beautiful Hudson River town that is a 20 minute drive. They have many great restaurants including Hudson Hils Cafe and quaint shops. There is also a farmers market (Boscobel), open on Saturday mornings. For hiking; Fahnestock State Park has many wonderful trails, and its a 5 minute drive (you can search for Clarence Fahnestock trail map to get directions) If you drive north on Oscawana Lake Road to Sunken Mine Road (7 minute drice), there are 6 or 7 trails ranging in length and difficulty. (it’s in Fahnestock Park) And closer to Cold Spring are all the Hudson highlands trails, breakneck ridge, etc.
