The space Please read the entire listing for important guest information before booking. This cabin is all hand crafted the traditional Maine way with lots of pine and cedar. Built in 1972 and is ~1300 sqft. Water at the cabin is pumped from the lake. If you choose to book, we send info about a local spring you can chose to get drinking water from. Please bring your own beach towels. There are two beaches, one right in front of the cabin and another by a trail through the forest leading to a private sand beach cove with a 2nd dock. If you are wanting to bring your pet, please mark you are bringing pets in your booking. There is a $250 flat rate pet fee. We try and keep the cabin as clean as possible and free of pet dander for guests with allergies. We provide you with wood to burn in our large fire pit. The Camp has 3 bedrooms upstairs. One has a double bed. One has 2 twin beds and one has another double bed. The loft has a double futon. There is also a double futon in the Great Room downstaris with two ceiling fans for warm days. We limit our total guests to 8 and have plently of space to find a spot that suits your best. I do provide sheets, pillows, quilts and hand towels for the bathroom, kitchen towels and a bath towel set for each person. There is an 1/2 bath inside with a private outdoor shower with lots of hot water and a view. There is an additional outhouse at the top of the driveway. It is rustic yet has many conveniences. Running water is from the lake. There is hot water and electricity along with a fridge, microwave and electric range. Cookware, dishware and eating utensils are provided. There is a 4 burner gas grill. A high powered propane burner for cooking lobster outside is also provided with lobster pots. There is a gas log fireplace, electric fireplace and propane wall heater for heat. The wood stove is not for guest use. The original gas antique lights are still in the camp and give it that special woodsy feel! These are delicate, please do not use them. Please keep in mind that this is a camp and not a house. It is on a dirt road about 3 miles from pavement and the driveway is dirt so there is going to be dust. Keep in mind that you are in the wilderness and there can also be bugs, spiders, spiderwebs etc. I do my best to keep it as clean as possible but there is no way to keep it as one would a house. This is a rustic Camp and if you are looking for perfection this is not for you. It is not perfect but is the most perfect spot on the planet! Please come with a love for the outdoors and an appreciation of what this spot has to offer. Built with a sense of adventure, love and fun in mind. My wish is that people can enjoy the full Katahdin/Northwoods experience and have memories for many years to come! Ambajejus Lake is part of Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes that is 14 miles long and is the fifth largest body of water in Maine. It is still a true wilderness lake with much of it undeveloped. The loons are plenty and are one of my favorite things to look forward to as well as the resident eagles and many other birds and wildlife. Guest access The entire property is for your use except the wood stove and antique gas lights. Other things to note There is a conveinence store very close with items, food and has clothing and souvenirs. Next to the Trading Post there is a very nice Pub and a Restaurant. Town is 15 minutes and has 2 grocery stores. I like the Hannaford across the street from McDonald's. There is a Laundromat. Town also has several more places to eat. I recommend the Appalachian Trail Cafe for breakfast. More local info will be supplied once you book. I send an entire Welcome Guide telling where the local reasturants, brewery, pubs and rafting plaves nearby are. Other Things to Note Cell service is not guaranteed. Most providers do get service. There is WiFi and a projector the you can use with your cell phone. There isn’t a tv or cable. The heat source is an electric fireplace, gas log fireplace and propane wall heater.
