But these are the elements that gives Hawaii it's beautiful landscapes ! Living on an island in the middle of the pacific presents a freedom and openness that we don't often experience on the mainland. Doors and windows are open, fresh air is abundant and we don't feel the need to be closed up inside. We enjoy bringing the outdoors in! Because we have the rock wall surrounding our property some of our windows are happily exposed! The plant life outside the windows also acts as a covering in a more natural way.
