I've always been drawn to the images of the Native Hawaiian Kauhale (Hawaiian Village). With the Kalo patches, the bananas, the placement of ulu and coconut tress. It all just communicated a feeling of health and vitality where the land and it's people were in harmony. This vision is my guiding light as I cultivate this space. My hope is that you will feel it's expanse, it's thoughtfulness, it's mana (spiritual power). Here you can connect to what is needed, peace....the house is awesome too. The space Modern house meets traditional Hawaiian garden. This place is perfect for couples, honeymooners, health minded individual travelers, star gazers. Those who want to get away and appreciate the evening and nighttime sky. You will feel as if you are pulling up to your own house/space as you will have exclusive access to the front door entrance into your very own lobby, private room and private bathroom along with a 1/2 acre of Native Hawaiian focused outdoor space which for the most part is available only to you (I may be in the front yard tending to the plants every now and then, I can answer any questions you may have). In the evenings you'll experience the expansive night sky in the chairs provided. We have very little light pollution here so the stars can be seen vividly. Your room faces east so you can wake up to seeing the sky through your large sliding window as it moves through dawn. This is our family home, my Ohana and I live in the rear of the house. You may hear us departing for school drop-off or pick up, playing with our dogs, or gardening. We try our best to limit noise disturbance, but please understand you will be co-existing with our Ohana, you can imagine a duplex where you have the front and we have the back. After a long day of exploration, be it beach, volcano tour, hiking or site seeing our place is a perfect home base to clean up, relax, maybe cuddle up to a movie, or just have a beverage in the front yard sitting on the chairs as you observe the evening sky or stargaze before turning in for the night. Guest access You will be provided a code that will give you access through the front gate and the front door. Guests will have a private entrance, room, and bathroom. The laundry room will be a shared space, with laundry room hours for guest provided on the placard above the washer. Guests may roam about and relax in the front yard. The garage, rear of the home, and back yard are our private residential areas. Other things to note We have two large dogs on property in the backyard. They won't be allowed in the front (where you are) but don't be startled as you may hear them in the backyard. We also have two cats that free roam outside, you are welcome to pet them, they are part of the family! The orange one is Ollie, he's really friendly, & the gray and black is Madame Leota... who is a high queen and may not allow you the privilege of a friendly pet, but you can always try! We have some female chickens that may walk around on the property. You can try and pet them too, but they can be fast. Please do not chase them. Feel free to feed them bread crumbs. Joli works from home, so she will be available to assist you with questions or touring suggestions.
