River Overlook Retreat is nestled on a wooded hillside just uphill from the Shenandoah River in a secluded, natural setting. Crafted recently by an Amish builder (2019), our cozy, two-bedroom cabin has new furnishings, decorations inspired by the outdoors and local artists, fully equipped kitchen, expansive porch and private riverside deck nearby where the view of the river is located. Relax in a rocking chair on the spacious front porch and listen to the peaceful sounds of birdsong and the meandering river or take in the view on the comfy couch from the picture windows. To enjoy the river view, take a short stroll down to the private river deck and you are lounging comfortably beneath the picturesque Massanutten Mountain. The river flows by tranquilly as you idle away your cares. Enjoy a cheery evening around the fire pot. The shoreline provides access for wading, tubing, and fishing. (The riverfront area is located just 75 feet from our driveway.) WINTER VEHICLE ACCESS: 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with clearance may be required during the winter months in the event of snowy or icy conditions. Please inquire about weather forecasts. NO PETS. We appreciate our furry friends but cannot accommodate them. (Guests in violation will pay a $150 cleaning fee.) TV-FREE: We have wireless internet for your devices but we do not have TVs. We have books, board games and playing cards for your nonelectronic enjoyment. PLEASE NOTE: We can’t accommodate children under 12. No parties or gatherings. Only booked guests are allowed on the property. (Guests in violation will be asked to leave with no refund.) Indoor woodstove is not available for use because of hazards and insurance requirements. The outdoor fire pit can be enjoyed. All of the above are designed to maximize your peace, safety and enjoyment. Guest access You have the entire cabin and the wonderful river front all to yourselves!
