Named in homage of the builder, turn of the century soda bottler & Civil War vet Captain Winfield Scott Mitchell. He built the house and he and/or family members lived in it from 1916 till 1957. The room also comes with a mini-fridge and strong wi-fi. You can relax and not worry about anything. Enjoy the comfort of the room and the peace of the environment. You can feel free to contact us before booking with your questions or even a virtual tour (if unoccupied). If long term, daily or monthly rate is negotiable. You'll be surprised how private everything seems. Guests have commented that it seems like we (the hosts) aren't even there most of the time. The same with other guests. Most are professionals in-town on short term assignments. Thus, are out to work, then mainly come to sleep. It's a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Every now and then you'll hear a train or rooster, but 99.9% of the time it's quiet and peaceful. Guest access Open and free parking. Two minutes from downtown. More than a dozen independent restaurants and boutique shopping stores only a stone's throw distance away. During your stay We can start with a small tour of the house, some local recommendations, then the guest is on his/her own to explore the property and town. My husband and I work remote and at home for our day jobs. You'll have full access to the living room, which has a strong wi-fi and land line, comfy leather couch, with books in the background (makes a nice Zoom background : ) Other things to note The house has a ton of history of which the owners are happy to share. Peaceful, private, place to stay with an "enchanted forest" backyard you're unlikely to find anywhere in DFW.
