A bright, sunny year-round. retreat near Middlebury. Enjoy a spacious 2-bedroom, (3 plus the sunroom, open April-November -- no heat, no air conditioning ) 2-bath cottage with lake access. Close to trails and waterfalls, 15 minutes to ski at Middlebury Snow Bowl; 40 minutes to Killington. Recently renovated with new appliances, maple floors, custom cabinets, rainshower, and gas grill. Air-conditioned, heated and comes with two, 2-person kayaks. With the pull-out couch, the house can sleep 8. The space You have lake access just yards from the house at the kayak launch, as well as 2 two-person kayaks and a swim float. There are miles of hiking trails just across the lake at the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area. The cottage is on a quiet dirt road and the house backs up to our neighbor's 100 acres of woodlands so is very private. However, there are other neighbors next door so we ask that you keep the noise down after 10 pm. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is a very comfortable queen-sized futon bed/couch in the sunroom. This is a seasonal room (no heat or air conditioning) and shares an attached bathroom with the master bedroom. We also have a queen size pull-out couch in the living room. During warmer months the house can sleep 8 but in winter, only 6. However, we only recommend booking for 8 for close families who have children who don't mind being in public spaces. We cannot accept groups of 8 adults. Guest access The lake access is a right of way shared with just two neighbors so we ask you to be respectful of them, though they rarely use it. It is shallow there and a bit weedy but you can swim or paddle out 50 feet to deeper water. The house deck is great for sunbathing and we have chairs and a picnic table there.
