Bright, contemporary loft apartment on a small working farm with beautiful views of pastures, vineyard, pond, gardens and hills. Just two miles to downtown Belfast's lively arts scene, award-winning restaurants, YMCA activities, several parks, free tennis/pool, and all kinds of waterfront options. Organic free-range hens (sometimes with baby chicks), Icelandic sheep, and Haflinger draft ponies dot the landscape. A charming farm experience and hip coastal town. The space Our cozy second-floor, newly renovated airy studio farm loft is perched above the farm providing gorgeous views all year round (in three directions), while ensuring visual privacy at the same time. We live in the attached farmhouse and share an entrance with the stairs to the apartment. We are available as needed, but no pressure! Just let us know if you want to use the shared amenities. The stately large barn, home to the animals and their feed/hay, is attached (in the traditional “big house, little house, back house, barn” architectural style) so we do not allow any smoking/vaping or candles in the apartment or on the premises. Charcoal grill, croquet, bocce, and badminton are available in the shared back yard. Lamb, eggs, and seasonal herbs and vegetables also available fresh from the farm. Guest access Free access to the back yard, fields and pond/streams around the farm. Collecting your own eggs and 1:1 time with the animals might be available upon request. Other things to note We love to cook, so likely have any kitchen tool or item that isn’t already in the apartment. We also have lots of experience tailoring insider recommendations to our guests’ interests, so please just ask! Also, coastal Maine has ticks and browntail moths. Definitely NOT a reason to stay locked up inside, but something to be aware of. Our free-range chickens do an incredible job eating ticks--we challenge you to find one around the house! We have also been removing brown tail moth nests for the past three years and have not seen any nests or moths around the farmhouse since.
