Other things to note This log house is situated on a large beautiful property that has been family-owned and lovingly maintained since the mid-80s. The log house was built in 2001. It has its own private driveway, private beach, well, and a pond that attracts all sorts of birds. Out on the lake there are loons that call at night and during the day, you can track a small group of bald eagles that have nested in the area. The land across the lake is owned by a Nature Preserve and will never be developed which adds to the sense of being in the remote woods--while in reality, you are only a few miles away to Oquossoc and Rangeley, both of which have great stores for provisioning. Because the area is not as highly developed as central Rangeley, there is little light invasion in the night sky. You will be able to enjoy the Milky Way in all its glory! In short, bring your cameras and telescopes! And sky maps. (Along with all that water gear you are packing.) Note that--because we allow guests to use our boats and because we are on a lake--we ask guests to sign a liability waiver before arriving. Also note that we will ask guests for an email after the reservation has been confirmed. This is so we have two means of communication. The cell phone coverage in the area can be spotty and is not always a reliable means of communication.
