We are right off of Highway 129 where you can take on the adventure of driving the 'Tail of the Dragon.' The world-renowned road is a challenge even for the greatest road warriors with 318 curves in just 11 miles. Continue on the Cherohala Skyway, which winds a mile high through mountaintop ridges of the Cherokee National Forrest. Purpose built for auto touring, and at a cost to tax payer of $2 million dollars a mile, plan to take your time as the Cherohala is full of magnificent vistas. For the history buffs, you're just a short drive to Cherokee, North Carolina, home to the eastern Band of the Cherokee. Try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee Casino or visit one of the many restaurants, shops, and museums. Embrace your inner adventurer and head down the Nantahala River.
