Horton House
Hello and thank you for taking a look at Horton House, one of the oldest homes in the state of New York! This home, originally built in 1653, has been beautifully restored and renovated. It features a well-equipped kitchen, colorful gardens and plenty of room to entertain. The Hampton Jitney and the Long Island Railroad are no more than a five-minute walk from the house along with village shops, restaurants and markets. A wonderful place to spend the winter holiday! Southold permit #0932 The space This cozy home has a surprising amount to offer. If cooking is your passion you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, featuring a six-burner Viking Stove, two ovens and a Subzero refrigerator that make entertaining friends and family a breeze! Outside is brand new Weber gas grill. One the ground floor you’ll also find a very comfortable living and dining area, well-appointed without being fussy. There is a separate television room and superfast Wi-Fi throughout the house. The master bedroom features a gorgeous queen-sized bed with luxury linens. The master bath has a deep, oversized tub and stand-alone shower. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs (one has a queen, the other has 2 singles) with super comfortable mattresses and luxury linens (the larger of the 2 bedrooms features a ‘witchers chimney’; an old chimney that runs at an angle to help keep out witches and evil spirits). There is also a full bathroom with a stand-alone shower. The house has a new central AC system. There is a small pantry off the kitchen with a new washer and dryer. The house is surrounded by lovely gardens. In the spring beach plum and irises will start to bloom, followed by hydrangeas, cardinal flower and hardy geraniums. The butterflies come out in droves. The entire lawn and garden is chemical free and the vintage brick patio is a great place to enjoy the evening. Southold is right in the center of the North Fork which makes exploring easy. World-class wineries, farmstands, and beautiful beaches are just a few minutes away by car. If you are looking for a bit of nightlife Greenport is less than a 10-minute drive. The quaint village of Orient and the laid-back beauty of Shelter Island are nearby as well. Rental permit #0932 Guest access Guests have access to the full property.
