Shenandoah River Airstreams #2
A unique glamping experience in one of the most iconic campers in the country: Airstream. The setting is spectacular. On a the edge of a working farm, overlooking the Shenandoah River with incredible views of the Massanutten Mountain. Watch the sunrise with your coffee from your patio and spend the evenings watching the stars from your fire pit. Walk down the steps to what we call the Misty River Park where you will find a shared seating area with a few hammocks and a unique floating dock. The space Airstream #2 is a 31' 80s vintage Excella. It has a queen bed, sofa, a fully equipped kitchen & dinette. The plumbing has all been updated to residential style fixtures. Other things to note We have two Airstreams... #1 and #2. They are not tight together like a campground but they are not totally isolated from each other. We have landscaping and large planters to give our Airstream guests their own defined space. River Access "Misty River Park"-Hopefully one morning or evening after a storm, you will get to see the mist hovering over the river and understand why we chose the name. When developing the property, we purposely tried to create a shared space that can be enjoyed by our guests with minimal impact on the river. Instead of multiple water access points, which would have required significant impact on the riparian buffer, we have one. Access to the seating area and the water access point is via the stairs by Airstream #1. The hillside, the riverside seating area, the floating dock, hammocks, and watersports equipment are all part of what we call the Misty River Park. (the “Park”) The Park is shared with guests of our two cottages and the two Airstreams. We know most of this is common sense but for everyone’s safety and enjoyment of the Park we offer the following: Everything is slippery, especially when it is wet, and the floating dock is unstable. Be careful. There are logs, rocks, and other hazards in the river. Some you can see, and some are under the water. Be careful. No jumping or diving into the river from the bank or floating dock. The Park is used by other people, and it is exposed to the elements and critters, so things can happen that compromise its safety. Please be aware and if you see something that makes you feel unsafe, do not use it, and tell us about it. The Burnshire Dam is downriver: to the left facing the river from the Park. It along with rainfall can affect the flow of the river. Be careful. All of the land along the river is private including the open space across the river from the Park. Please be respectful of our neighbors. There are some life vests in the box by the stairs to the floating dock. We have tried to provide a variety of sizes. Feel free to bring your own. We have two canoes, two stand up paddle boards and two kayaks. Please don't leave any personal items unattended or in a way that may impact the enjoyment and use of the Park by other guests. There are lights for the long stairway with switches at the top and bottom of the stairs for your convenience. The switch for the lights around the seating area is on the tree to the right of the bottom of the stairs. A few outlets are provided for your convenience. Please do not unplug the lights! Please retreat to your individual unit and turn off the lights by 10pm In most areas, you will be able to pick up a Wi-Fi signal. Network: MistyRiverPark Password: Restore1
