Peaceful, quiet, cozy home tucked away in the woods and backs up to Hudson Highlands State Park. Located at the end of a dirt road with over 3 acres, creek, and nothing but nature surrounding you. Yet only a 20 min walk down Main St. to the Hudson River and everything in between (train to NYC, shops, restaurants, grocery store). Best of both worlds! Home has lots of natural light, a fireplace, sunroom, sauna and 3 floors for guest use. Trail access from the backyard. Family, kid & dog friendly. The space **if you are interested in staying here and dates are blocked, please send us a message with a specific date request and we will see if we can accommodate** This is our family’s primary home. We clear out some things and organize as best we can, but it's very much a lived-in homey feel. When we’re away, we’re happy to share our space with anyone who is looking for a quiet reprieve and we appreciate those that respect our home as much as we do. Great for families with kids, couples and quiet groups! Please see pictures and descriptions for a better understanding of the house structure/set up. There is a primary bedroom on the top floor with a queen bed, a bedroom on the main floor with 2 twin size beds and a bedroom on the basement level with a queen size bed. There is also an art studio and playroom on the basement level. There is a folding twin mattress and an air mattress if needed for additional sleeping options. Our yard has a deck in front and back with comfortable furniture, a play structure for kids with swings, slides and more; a tire swing, fire pit with Adirondack chairs and loveseat, hammock, a rock spiral labyrinth and a chicken coop with laying hens. Backyard is fenced in for dogs. Creek is usually flowing during the wet seasons (especially in the winter and spring), so extra care is required when small children are playing outside. Hiking trails in the backyard lead to the top of the popular Bull Hill/Mt Taurus and connects to a Breakneck and Mt Beacon. Hiking maps and other local informational guides will be available for your use. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and property except for home office, garage and upstairs closet, which will be locked, as they contain personal belongings. Other things to note Animals: Dogs are welcome if requested in advance. For those with dog allergies, please take note. We have a dog, but can assure you we do a thorough cleaning of dog hair before your stay and can remove dog beds if you'd like. We have chickens too, who live in a coop outside and provide fresh eggs daily most of the year. They will not be free-ranging during your stay. If it's an extended stay (more than a weekend), we will likely have a friend stop by to make sure the chickens have food and water - but they will not come inside or disturb you. We would give you a heads up about any drop ins. House is in the woods! You will likely see plenty of deer, squirrels and various birds. Maybe a hawk, owl or fox, too! Inclement weather: We have someone who will plow our road and driveway if it snows. However, we would still recommend AWD for winter/snow driving on our dirt road.
