A Moveable Feast on Amazing Grace II
Amazing Grace II is a 50 foot sloop built by Beneteau in France to Bureau Veritas standards. The design is taken from from an original Bruce Farr design. Bruce Farr designs many racing sailboats and his designs are fast, especially off the wind. If you are a sailor you will appreciate the fast and responsive sail plan and hull shape that combine to make fast passages with a sea kindly motion. AG II draws only 6 feet, so can anchor in fairly tight spots. She is fast and fun to sail on inter-island passages and her twin wheel steering set up makes it easy for novices to take a turn at the wheel, as well as giving walk through access to the stern and dinghy area. Her well protected cockpit and isinglass screens mean you can sit outside in almost any weather without layering up with protective clothing while still getting protection from the tropical sun and enjoying the view. A swim platform and ladder off the stern provides easy access for a swim after a day's sail, and a fresh water rinse outlet is right next to the swim platform. There is plenty of space on deck to spread out a towel and sunbathe or sit up forward and watch an island slowly grow larger while the boat slices through the waves. A master cabin forward provides a queen size pullman berth, settee and writing desk, with a separate shower and toilet, 2 wash basins and lots of ventilation from 4 hatches and 4 opening ports. Midships there is a large 3 burner stove galley, fridge and freezer and a central island for prepping food. There is storage below for pots and pans and utensils. Aft there are 2 more queen size berth cabins, one for the captain, each with their own toilet and shower. There are lights, reading lights and fans in each cabin and good ventilation from numerous hatches. See some reviews here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4810067?preview
