Each bedroom offers guests the flexibility to choose bed configurations of either two twin extra long (XL), or combined for a single king size bed. Home amenities include air conditioning, high speed Wi-Fi Internet, a BBQ grill, a full kitchen, indoor or outdoor dining for 6 people, smart TV's with Netflix, Disney+, and many other Roko TV channel offerings. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the Mopan River and Paslow Falls from their private deck and observe abundant wildlife from iguanas to howler monkeys. The house features hardwood floors and ceilings, and wood furnishings made from natively grown and renewable tropical hardwoods. The property is located in the Mopan River valley just 3 miles outside the town of Bullet Tree Falls, and only 15 minutes from the twin towns of San Ignocio / Santa Elena. Just minutes away from the ancient Mayan temples of Xunantunich, El Pilar, and Cahal Pech. This river valley is also home to many native species of animal and plant life - a bird enthusiasts paradise! Experience the ultimate in luxury and sustainability with this vacation home. *NEW* I have partnered with a local Belize chef to offer tantalizing local cuisines prepared especially for you, or make it a hands-on cooking class and learn how to make fabulous Belize dishes. I can facilitate the introduction with the chef, and you can coordinate meals from there. Additional fees are paid directly to the chef. Guest access You will have access to the entire house, the entire swimming pool with 65ft water slide, and the entire 6.5 acre gated property. You can walk along our river path, stroll through the teak forest, or help yourself to whatever fruit happens to be in season from our orchard or gardens. Kayaks are also available for guest use free of charge, but hiring a local guide to take you down the river is recommended for less experienced kayakers. As your host I can help you arrange for a tour guide, transportation during your stay, or even a private chef. Other things to note Sanctuary at Paslow Falls has been designed to be environmentally friendly. The property is run primarily by solar power, but we have grid power as a backup and the system automatically switches between solar and grid power. Hot water is provided by two solar hot water heaters (one at the main house, and one for the outdoor pool shower and laundry facilities. For those occasional times when the sun doesn't provide enough hot water we also have an Eco-friendly on-demand electric hot water heater, which comes on automatically when the solar water heater does not provide enough heat. This property was part of an old cattle ranch when purchased, and we have been replanting a variety of trees to reforest it. So far we have planted approximately 1700 trees on the property, and we continue to plant more each year. There are several mature fruit trees, and several melon patches on the property and guests are welcome to pick any fruit that happens to be in season at the time. We also produce our own bio-gas from food waste and a specially designed low flow toilet in the pool house bathroom. Since there is no trash service in or nearby the villages everyone must incinerate their own trash. We wanted to do something better, so we designed our own custom built smokeless incinerator which burns trash at super high temperatures for more complete combustion yielding less smoke and less air borne pollution. This is a work in progress with additional air filters to come, but it's a whole lot better than the alternatives. We also recycling all glass, plastic containers, and metal cans with separate recycle containers available on-site, which are taken to a recycling center near the Guatemala boarder for proper recycling.
