The Angel’s Share in Bardstown welcomes you to wake up and smell the bourbon aging in our backyard in America’s Most Beautiful Small Town on The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. <1mile from downtown restaurants, bourbon bars, shops, walk to the Bourbon Fest, and to other Bardstown attractions! Our 4BR 1 Bath home welcomes up to 8 guests in a quiet neighborhood, tastefully decorated, a well appointed kitchen for cooking, drinks, grill, music (including vinyl) or backyard fire under the string lights The space THE HOME This 4 Bedroom, 1 Bath home built in the 1950’s has been attentively updated to make your stay comfortable and accommodate the technology of today while you are in The Bourbon Capital. The property is right next door to the Barton 1792 distillery! The neighborhood has housed distillery workers and their families since the bourbon industry rebounded after prohibition was lifted. The house is the last house on a quiet dead-end street that borders the Barton 1792 distillery and is approximately one mile, and side walk access to downtown shops and restaurants with several distilleries just moments away. The living room has been tastefully decorated for a relaxing night of music on the record player, conversation and games, or a ROKU smart television. Enjoy the many interesting bourbon books or novels and while you enjoy your favorite find after a day of adventure on the Bourbon Trail. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor along with the single full bath. Both bedrooms have queen beds, remote ceiling fans, ROKU smart TVs, and closets in each room with table lamps with USB charger ports for your devices. We have aptly named them the Kentucky Thoroughbred room, and the Kentucky Bourbon room, all with premium 1600 thread count sheets and plenty of pillows, blankets and of course fans. Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms one with a queen bed, the “My Old Kentucky Home” room and another with a full/double day bed and twin trundle as well as a working desk, which is our “Bernheim” room in honor of the beautiful Bernheim forest just miles away. All bedding is available for the trundle as are extra comforters and blankets in the Bedroom closets. New Individual HVAC units are in each upstairs bedroom to ensure each guest has a comfortable nights rest on our deluxe memory foam hybrid bedding. Due to the stairs, we advise this is not a handicap accessible property and use caution with children. Cooking at home? The kitchen is well equipped with stainless pots and pans, some non stick, as well as plenty of bakeware. Further we have a Ninja Blender, Crockpot, hand mixer, all utensils and cutlery, cocktail kit, sphere ice cube molds, and plenty of cocktail and wine glasses as well as Fiesta Ware dishes. The Dining area has seating for up to 8 people. We also supply the propane bbq grill out back, and utensils (see pantry cabinet). A Keurig, full Pot, and electric kettle is available as is a starter assortment of coffee, premium LaVazza Kcups, condiments, and teas as well as starter supplies for dishwashing. We want you to feel comfortable and cared for, so as you settle in we have provided an iron, ironing board, and laundry is available downstairs. In the bath you will find makeup cloths, make up remover wipes, as well as blowdryer and soft, and Temple Spa hair products from England. We proudly offer local hand made soaps as well frim Making Good Scentz right downtown and always several rolls of soft tissue paper. Please use the supplied dark make up cloths to avoid discoloration on the linens. The backyard is equipped with a large gas grill, Adirondack chairs, a solo stove smokeless fire pit to enjoy beneath the string lights illuminating Barton’s rickhouses next door. Feel free to bring the Marshall bluetooth speaker outside and enjoy your bourbon and blues while you cook or just chill and play cornhole. Lighters are available in the pantry, Items may be stored in the shed in off season (including Cornhole). We advise guests to supply their own wood if desired. Trash is on Thursdays if you end up with a full can sooner than expected but do not feel obligated to take it down. An exterior ring door bell on back porch door is present for safety. Guest access You are welcome to the entire house and yard, no street or yard parking - driveway only. Basement is laundry and weather shelter only. Other things to note Cleaners may arrive promptly after checkout time. Lawn care may occur in season. Guests may be assessed late checkout fees as this causes delays to cleaning schedules. In the event of issues accessing property, please use Blink doorbell or text host to get in touch. Smoking, vapes, any pets, or other prohibited activities indoors will be subject to a fine, cleaning fee or both of no less than $250 plus costs of remediation and lost bookings. Guests agree to House Rules in their entirety upon booking. When you enter Bardstown, you will notice many signs, buildings, and rickhouses have a black haze or “soot” on them. It increases the closer you get to distilleries. This is a natural byproduct of the distilling and aging process. The bourbon evaporants feed this process, and we call it “The Angel’s Share”, hence the name of our place! As a result, many rickhouses are painted black to avoid being unsightly and you will undoubtedly smell the yeasty oak enhanced aroma in the air outside while in the Bourbon Capital. We take extensive efforts to regularly wash the exterior of our property but as it is a natural process, it may appear more or less during various seasons.
