A Moosehead area favorite, this popular rental in Sandy Bay has been recently upgraded. The chalet offers peaceful lakeside charm. View the sunset from the dock located directly across the street at this tranquil getaway. The space Cute little A-frame perched on Nelson Avenue in Sandy Bay. Sandy Bay is one of the more private and exclusive areas of the lake. Great neighbors, real helpful people. Nice quiet, family atmosphere. The master bedroom is downstairs just off the kitchen right next to the bath. Bunk beds, and single bed in loft upstairs. Guest access Other than the locked owners closet the whole property is accessible to the renters. There’s a fire pit outback with picnic tables. Just a seven minute ride into downtown Greenville. Other things to note At any time of the summer months, Maine can become cold and wet! Please be sure to bring several changes of warm long sleeve shirts and pants. Multiple pairs water resistant footwear with good tread for hiking. Windbreakers, rain gear, wool socks, lots of bug repellent. The Moosehead area is especially rugged. Its that far away from one of the most wild places in the entire country. Baxter state park and the 100 mile wilderness are definitely the most wild places on the eastern coastal United States. When you see a wild animal treated with respect. Do not approach it! A mother moose with a calf will cause serious. potentially fatal injury to an individual on foot. Always have a change of the warm clothing in your automobile just in case you get stranded on the side of the road it could be miles and miles before you see a person, especially if you travel the Golden Road north of the lake up towards Baxter. There are tolls for the golden Road. So bring cash and be patient with the speed limit of 45 miles an hour. It’s a gravel road and kicks up a lot of dust. You don’t want to hit a Moose or oncoming logging truck. 4 Wheel Dr. is suggested for the roads north of the lake especially the north eastern road to Seboomook, the northern most town on Moosehead.
