Your perfect cozy retreat or intimate getaway awaits. The space We created our dream vacation home and have decided to open the doors for others to enjoy. We hope you will come stay again and again and build those special memories that can only be found around a Maine lake. It is our happy place! StayBirdy's LOST LOON cabin has been totally and very thoughtfully renovated to include NEW A/C and whole-home GENERATOR, new appliances, new flooring, new furniture and furnishings, new TVs, new indoor and outdoor games, every creature comfort you could hope for, all while escaping to your own private retreat. New aluminum dock with built-in seating and kayaks for you to enjoy from the property. Also along the lake frontage is a fire pit with cozy Adirondack seating and a swing hanging from the trees. AMAZING sunsets and an abundance of wildlife await! While you may never want to leave, you have an plethora of options for additional activities and dining nearby. Outside of the quaint town of Readfield, you have Maine's state capital of Augusta only 30 minutes away. The Portland airport is just over an hour away from Readfield. The coastal town of Wiscasset is within an hour's drive, where you can continue down Route 1 for additional coastal stops and an active summer drive. _______________________ IMPORTANT HARD RULE to note BEFORE BOOKING >NO ADDITIONAL VISITORS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME: Be aware that absolutely no gatherings or events are allowed anywhere on the property. If you are looking for a place to host visitors outside of your booking guest count, this is not the place. If you intend to have a nearby friend stop by at any time, you must have advanced authorization. Only guests included in the booking may visit the property at any time. If you have a change in guest count from the time of booking, you must update the guest count on the booking to reflect all adults and children. Unauthorized guests may result in additional fees as well as immediate cancelation and termination of remaining booking term without refund. Booking guest will be required to sign a rental agreement upon booking and before access to the property is enabled. _______________________ BED and BATH > Primary King Suite: located upstairs with private en-suite bathroom featuring walk-in shower and window for lots of light. 50" Roku TV where you can log in to your favorite streaming apps. Large dresser of drawers, luggage rack, hooks and hanging area (no closet) provide space and storage. Two large windows with shades offer wonderful natural lighting and views to the lake. Tall table for two with views to the lake to enjoy an evening beverage of choice or a quiet place to yourself to work on your laptop. > Downstairs King Bedroom: We call it the "Blue Room". Enjoy picturesque views of the lake from a comfy new mattress. You have a corner desk for working, a closet with dresser, and a corner seating area. > Downstairs Queen Bedroom: Also known as the "Red Room". This room is located adjacent to the Blue Room and offers whimsical woodland animal fun with forest views, dresser and closet for ample storage. > In addition to the en-suite bathroom upstairs, the downstairs guests share a full bathroom with tub and window for bright lighting. All bath linens, soap shampoo, conditioner are provided. > The Upstairs Media Loft: A cozy space overlooking the downstairs living with lots of light from the windows with woodland views. You will find many family friendly games for memorable FAMILY GAME NIGHT. Available dark shades encourage MOVIE NIGHT on the 65" Roku TV where you can log in to your favorite streaming services. This space pairs as the 4th bedroom to accommodate 7th/8th guest. We carefully selected a very comfy trifold mattress that fits in the open area and is more comfortable than the fold-out couches we sampled. KITCHEN Fun fully-renovated retro diner inspired space! Light and bright! You can even enjoy doing the dishes with the big window looking out to the woods and nature, Fully stocked with major and minor appliances, dishes, cookware. Traditional drip coffee maker and grounds are available. Seating for 6 in the breakfast area with bright window views, plus additional seating for 8 in the adjacent enclosed all-season porch. LIVING Vaulted ceilings and cozy space with natural light and views. The living area is open and bright with comfortable seating for 6. Adjoins to kitchen area. PATIO The open patio offers built-in seating and a nearby Weber Premier Premium charcoal grill station for those traditional main red snappah" BBQs. PORCH When you arrive, you will enter through the completely renovated all-season porch. Whether you would like to lounge at the conversation corner with views to the lake, or play foosball at the other end, the porch offers a huge space to have fun and take in the outdoors in comfort. You will find other engaging games for all ages to play, or you can also just sit and hang out at the dining table for 8. DOCK 35' new aluminum dock with built-in seating for 4-5 and kayak racks with 4 sit-on-top kayaks. The dock is a fabulous place to enjoy the colorful sunsets or have a morning cup of coffee. Either way, you will likely here the amazing sounds of the loons. We are very fortunate to have many resident loons on Torsey Lake. Please note that we are at a shallow and rocky end of the lake and have about 5' at end of dock, so absolutely no diving or jumping in for your safety. You can rent a boat and scoot out to the deeper parts of the lake for those memorable cannonball or backflip competitions! FIREPIT Please enjoy the waterfront fire pit area. Keep the wood in the existing fire ring and manage the flames. We have a bundle of wood and a lighter for you to get started and test your fire-starting skills. Additional firewood bundles may be purchased nearby. THE WOODS So this is where the explorer in you has room to roam. You are free to explore the property. We have an abundance of wildlife and nature here. We ask that you become aware of all that comes with exploring nature. Dress appropriately, spray for ticks and biting bugs, and be respectful of wildlife. Pay attention to adjacent property boundary signs. We hope you get to experience some amazing encounters and share them with us. NO HUNTING on the property. lostloonlodge Guest access You have full access to the cabin and 14 acres of land, all to yourself. Very secluded and private! We do have some closets reserved for owner storage, which are marked and apparent. The basement is also not accessible to guests.
