Sewanee Castle Room-- sleep like royalty.
Our house was built in 1872. It is among the first 50 houses built in Sewanee as the University started offering classes. It originally served as a boarding and guest home. We extend that guest service to current visitors for University events. The Castle Room was created in 1996 for our then six-year-old son. We hired University theater majors to make him a castle. While he is now an adult, the castle remains. We promise to treat you like royalty! Sorry, we love dogs, but no pets please. The space The queen bed has a comfortable mattress, 100% cotton linens, down pillows, a down comforter (down alternate if you request), an armoire for your clothing and a desk for work should you need it. Guest access All our bedrooms are on the second floor. The bathrooms are shared with other guests. During your stay We are available for anything you need but will give you all the privacy you want. That said, our kitchen seems to be a natural gathering spot for trading stories especially over a morning cup of coffee. Other things to note If you are the parent of a prospective or newly admitted student, ask us for tips about being a Sewanee parent that are not normally covered by the admissions folk. Don't get me wrong, the admissions people are great and straight shooters. We've no dirty secrets to tell, but being a parent is different from being a student.
