Mid-Coast, Maine! Kick back and relax in this calm, comfortable & stylish space. We're just a short drive into town... 'Prettiest Village in Maine' they say!. Located just off Route 1, an ideal location to explore all that Mid-Coast has to offer; charming towns and villages, spectacular beaches and vistas, galleries & museums, restaurants, farmers markets.....all within reasonable driving times. And don't miss Boothbay Botanical Gardens.... sure to delight your senses! The space 224 Birch Point Rd adjoins a heavily wooded area at the top of a ravine that leads to Cushman Cove, part of the Back River. There are 1 1/4 acres with no neighbors on either side and the wooded ravine to the rear. The suite w/private entrance is a 1st floor wing of the house. The room has been upgraded for a comfy stay. You'll fade into sleep easily on the king-size bed and pillows. 100% Cotton Bedspread/Linen Duvet cover. Extra blankets can be found in the wardrobe. Stays of 4 days or more will include room & bath refreshing with fresh clean towels, coffee, cream, snacks, water. The cherry wardrobe is equipped with drawers and shelving and there's a hang bar on the side of the wardrobe fit with wood hangers. Organic cotton and/or linen bed linens, beautiful wide- plank flooring, an intimate dining area by the window, microwave, refrigerator with freezer along with dishes, bowls, glasses, wineglasses, flatware and utensils. There is an electric water kettle for pour over coffee and tea (#2 filters provided). We will provide a complimentary starter tray of coffee, creamer (real half and half in individual sized bottles!), an assortment of black and herbal teas, water, protein bars and snacks. Paper towels, toilet paper, and 100% cotton bath towels, including 2 beach towels provided as well. There are books available during your stay, a sitting area, games (Backgammon, cards, scrabble, Bananagram) cleaning products, organic Alba Shampoo and Conditioner, Alba Organic Body wash and hairdryer. There is also a new SONY smart TV, so while Netflix is provided, you may need to bring along your ID and password for any premium streaming platforms you subscribe to. Theres a Blue-Ray DVD player with a curated selection of DVDs, a window A/C for hot & humid nights . The rear brick patio is equipped with metal mesh furniture & cushions: table with umbrella, 4 chairs and also a hose to wash off the beach sand before entering the room. Additional patio with chaise lounges and firepit. Scott and I continue to work on enhancing the gardens and rear walkways, but you can still enjoy the natural landscape, gardens and habitat along with seasonal flowers. Pick your own blueberries for an easy snack when in season! Guest access This space offers a private entrance, full large modern bath with tub ( 2grab bars) and shower, and a spacious 165 SF bedroom, housing a king sized bed. You'll have access to the private rear brick patio at the edge of the ravine, a great place to relax with a cocktail or relax on the slate patio with chaise lounge chairs. Feel free to walk the grounds and enjoy the quiet, albeit the sounds of the natural habitat. The rental space is not shared, although we live in the adjoining residence. We may share the outside walkway to the house. The basement is off limits, and solely for emergency exit only! Other things to note Scott and I moved here last August. Scott from Portland, ME and I moved from West Chester, PA. While Scott has his Bookbinder's studio in Portland, I have retired from the Real Estate Industry after 40 years. We want you to enjoy your stay here. We want you to feel welcomed. A sentiment which we both embrace is the psychological meaning of the word 'Sonder'... "the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own".
