The adventure awaits in the Berkshires! Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city! This getaway is 1/4 mile away from Catamount and 15 mins from Great Barrington. This 22 acre secluded property has a charming home (1820), lush views, multiple bridges, a running stream and walking trails through the property! Great for families/friends to connect, relax, and enjoy many outdoor activities! There is a large fresh fed pond with waterfall for swimming. Pond house for changing and relaxing. The space You are able to use the entire home and 22 magical acres. There are walking trails, babbling brook, bridges, waterfall and pond (spring and summer). The home is set off the road for complete privacy. We are now offering a chef to cook your meals. The menu is extensive but if you don’t see what you want, she would be happy to make it. You can pick it up or have it delivered to the home at your desired time. THIS OPTION IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Guest access My home is self check in. More information will be given closer to your arrival date. My Groundskeeper will deliver the keys the day of checkin. That key will open both the front and kitchen door. When opening kitchen door for the first time pull the safety handle out of the floor before unlocking it. It has a red handle and sits in a drilled hole right under the door knob. The entire property can be used by the guests. My property goes from State Route 23 where you pull in and stops at the white stone wall at the top of the hill behind the house and from over the bridge behind the pond house to Collins street on the other end. You can just follow the creek to Collins street. There is a lot to explore! There are 5 outdoor structures on the property which I am working on. Covid has made it very difficult to get materials and labor. Stay tuned! The garage at the end of the driveway is being used for storage at this time. The shed closest to the house has electricity. I have put the garbage cans, fire starters/lighters, games and other useful items for your stay. Be careful entering the structure across the bridge closest to the side deck. It is under construction. The barn/stables up on the hill is my next project. I would prefer that you didn’t enter. The stable, although very interesting, I feel is unsafe. There is a gas grill on the large deck off the kitchen. When using the grill PLEASE MOVE IT AWAY FROM THE HOUSE because of obvious fire safety reasons. Please remember to shut off the propane tank and scrape grill while hot. There are 2 full sized fire extinguishers in the house. I have put one in the kitchen near front window and the other on the shelf inside the door to the basement. There are mini fire extinguishers on every floor. Please locate all upon arrival incase of an emergency. I have put the Kiddy Fire Escape Window stairs in the master bedroom and upstairs guest room. Please locate upon arrival. I have 2 baby gates on the deck which can be wiped/sprayed off and brought inside for either your child or pets. I have created 2 fire pits. One sits on the front lawn at the end of the driveway and the other is up behind the pond house. They are always stocked with wood and kindling. Both sit near running water so it will be easy for you to put out before leaving the area. There are many seating areas and tables on the property to enjoy the views of the pond and brook. I have put in a new large dock with table, chairs and umbrella that sits over the pond. It is fenced on 3 sides. The pond side was left open so you can enjoy the pond view and enter the water using the stairs. I have floats in the pond house. If you just want to get your feet wet, I have installed 2 swing chairs that hang under the bridge that is off the side deck. You will need a good pair of pond shoes to access them. You can either walk down back stairs off side deck or walk the creek to reach them. If a storm comes the water does rise and they do get dirty. I have 6 extras in the shed. Just pick 2 new ones and attach to the hooks under the bridge and ENJOY! PLEASE ACCOMPANY CHILDREN WHEN THEY ARE NEAR ANY OF THE WATER FEATURES ON THE PROPERTY. Other things to note Please do not smoke in or near any of the structures on the property. If you are going to use the grill, please move it away from the house while in use. The basement is not finished and used for storage and laundry. Unless you need to do a wash, I would appreciate if you didn’t go downstairs.
