Award Winning House in Portmouth's South End
Stay in a premier, 18th century, light-filled, Georgian home with Pistataqua river views. Staying at the stunning Tobias Lear House, where President George Washington took tea in November of 1789, will immerse you in Portsmouth's rich history, but provide you with all the comforts of the 21st century. Due to the historic nature of this property and our close proximity to neighbors, we have to limit our reservations to four adults and two children and do not allow parties or events on site. The space Beyond, it’s stunning and historic front parlors, comfortable den, and up to date kitchen, the Tobias Lear House also features two special bedroom suites. Madame Lear‘s chamber boasts a gas fireplace, as well as an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom is known as the “family suite” and is made up of two individual bedrooms. This suite offers beautiful views of the gardens as well as the Piscataqua River. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property aside from work rooms in the basement and attic.
