Originally built as the founders’ house, the seafront/honeymoon cabana is the largest of our cabanas with an expansive veranda and hammock for maximum relaxation. The cabana has vaulted hardwood ceilings and are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and Belizean artwork. Rooms are cooled by the ever-present sea breeze. It has a queen bed and a futon that folds out to a double bed. This cabana has its own private bathroom with a double shower, fans, a mini refrigerator, coffeemaker, and Wi-Fi. We offer daily cleaning services. Continental breakfast is included and consists of fresh fruit and pastries baked by locals-served daily. Small-scale & casual, Hopkins Inn offers romantic, affordable, and decidedly low-key accommodations. Our intimate and unpretentious beach inn reflects our philosophy that true luxury is in life’s simple pleasures. We have four cabanas on the beach, along with a courtyard, breakfast patio, beach chairs, hammocks, and a grill. Best rates are not booked through third parties. Because we are a small inn, there is no attended front desk. Often, we are off site tending to inn business. Therefore, if you will be arriving at another time, just let us know, so we can plan accordingly. However, you must arrive before dark (6pm) as it is not safe to drive at night. Belize highways do not have lights. We’re located in the heart of Hopkins Village, a Garifuna fishing village whose customs of drumming and language continue. We’re an easy stroll to locally owned restaurants, bars, shops, and mini-golf. We're steps away from the stunning Caribbean Sea. Hopkins is centrally located to many adventure activities such as hiking Cockscomb Nature Preserve, Maya ruins, inland Blue Hole, and zip lining at Bocawina—all make exciting day trips. Weather: With an average yearly temperature of 84F (29C), it almost always warm, yet comfortable with the ever-present sea breezes to keep you cool in the hottest of months. In winter, November through March, the temperature in Belize rarely falls below 60F (16C). Humidity is usually high. Rainy season is June to November. Attire: Hopkins is a casual, laid back village. We recommend to be prepared for our streets and beaches by packing comfortable walking shoes, sandals, casual clothes such as shorts, and loose-fitting clothing. It is advisable to also bring along a light jacket, sunscreen, and deet-free insect repellent.
