We are a few minutes from the airport by car or about the same from the ferry terminal (can transport or arrange a taxi depending on arrival). Local cabs may be available if needed. You are a 10 to 15-minute walk downtown. If you cannot find what you want there, you probably don't need it! Many have confided in us that Wrangell is SE Alaska’s Best Kept Secret. The space The downstairs of my home has its own entrance, a bedroom w/closet, full bath and living area. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, electric kettle, toaster and rice cooker. Coffee, some teas and a few condiments are available. There are some dishes, silverware and a few kitchen gadgets. A small table with chairs provides space for eating. There is a desk for use of a laptop. WiFi is available but limited. There is a TV with ROKU on a cabinet with electric fireplace for atmosphere and a little heat if needed. I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines Guest access The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center is great for resources. M-F, 8-5. Shakes Island Tribal House, the Carving Shed, Nolan Center and Museum are among other points of cultural and historic interest. Other things to note Check-in time 2:00 pm. Check-out time 11:00 am. Early check-in possible if the room is ready. Later check-out can be considered. Luggage drop-off allowed if needed due to early arrival or late departure. Your personal access to the downstairs entrance locks from the inside. There is a door to the garage, which can also be locked. There is a sliding door between your space and the stairs that lead to the upstairs. There is a laundromat downtown – please ask for directions.
