Practical, simple accommodation one block from the beach! Great for the experienced traveler who wants to unplug and enjoy local culture. Minutes from the downtown square, public transit, restaurants, sports bar, and grocery stores. The space Beautiful, older casita with hacienda style vintage furniture and lots of natural light. One block from the beach. You can hear the surf from the patio and with the windows open. Fully furnished living, dining, lounge, patio, and bedrooms. Comfy mattresses and quality linens and pillows. Kitchen equipped for those who love to cook - gas stove with oven, fridge, toaster, french press coffee maker, blender, electric citrus juicer, frying & sauce pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, mugs and flatware. Living room, dining room, lounge area, two bedrooms. Open plan due to first bedroom divided off by decorative pervious concrete block and second room without door. Curtains provide partial visual privacy. A small safe is provided for your valuables. Two boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella and two beach towels provided. Some snorkeling gear. NOTE: bedrooms are not closed off from one another, and it has more the feel of one big open space. This is traditional in many local homes. While the casita can sleep more than 4, please consider the open floor plan before booking. House has a different key for each door so that can take a bit of figuring out. Includes WiFi. WiFi in village has been on and off lately, so there may be outages at the time of your stay; the local providers are working on improving this but it is important to note that it may be inconsistent. House has four ceiling fans (no air conditioner), no clothes washing machine (laundromat 3 blocks away or we can make arrangements with housekeeper), TV and DVD player with small selection of movies. Bathroom is functional, but has not been remodeled. It has old fixtures and grout that is oxidized. Casa is close to open jungle and trees. For this reason please be aware that you could encounter different insects in and around the house. The property is fumigated to keep the bugs at bay, but they still get in sometimes. A wonderful, convenient place to stay with an excellent caretaker/housekeeper. ***PLEASE INQUIRE for Monthly Rates*** **5 Nights Minimum Stay** Guest access All areas of the home are accessible by guests. Other things to note NOISE: Casita Estrella is located in the vibrant center of town where there can be much activity. Neighbors have chickens and roosters. It is next to the local Catholic Church and the bells are loud. Once or twice a week, there is a "Rooster Mass," as the locals joke, meaning the church bells are rung at 6:30am in time with the local roosters crowing. Also, the house is off a square used for basketball and soccer play, so games go on a few nights a week. We love hearing the locals (adults and children) playing sports, like having a live sports feed. There can be a game playing or a bouncing basketball until late at night, especially weekends. Basketball and soccer ball provided. Some neighbors can play traditional music loud on occasion as well. The casita is located next to a jungle area, so insects and bugs may be present in the house.
