We call it 'The Bus that Rocks'. A unique, off grid living, nature lovers dream accommodation. A completely refurbished & restyled genuine Ex-Barbados Transport Board Mercedes bus. It has sleeping for for 4 people & an indoor toilet and washroom with al fresco bamboo shower. The space The Eco StayBus, ‘the Bus that Rocks' A unique holiday accommodation apartment. We have obtained a huge, redundant ex Barbados Transport Board Mercedes bus. Completely refurbished and restyled as a Reggae Bus – we call it ‘The Bus that Rocks'. It has sleeping for four people (a queen size and two single beds) a kitchen with gas burners and ice box, a dinette to seat four people and a bathroom (a toilet and wash hand basin. ) The al-fresco shower is encased in local bamboo and located on the rear deck. Al fresco eating too, with rattan table and chairs on the deck - additional deck chairs as well! The wood deck runs the length of the bus and its width at the rear. On the outside of the bus is a barbeque grill with tools also a fire pit (if you like bonfires). All electricity supplied to our bus is solar and includes LED lighting and a music sound system. Wi-Fi Internet is available to those who wish to use it. So now you can live in a truly carbon neutral environment and give back to Mother Nature. The "Good Life" too. The bus is nestled under coconut trees and a massive bearded fig tree (after which Barbados got its name), has its own tropical garden and private road access; yet it is within shouting distance of the main Ecolodge house (us). The view is of the Atlantic Ocean to the east and you will swear you can see clean across to West Africa and with stunning red and orange sunrises. If you like nature, you can walk for miles undisturbed and spot much local wildlife (the Barbados Green Monkeys, mongoose, a myriad of tropical birds – you may even spot tiny, whistling tree frogs). The silence here is only broken by the sound of these marvelous little creatures together with the amazingly restful sound of crickets. If you prefer the high life, you are within 20 minutes of any of the beaches, restaurants, nightclubs and up market shops of which the Island abounds. We are happy to leave you to enjoy yourselves yet equally happy to advise you on other pursuits, best restaurants, car rental etc (the later is highly recommended). Due the lands terrain, steep and rocky in areas, this listing is not suitable for children under 10 years old. Other things to note It is strongly recommended that a hire (rental) vehicle be obtained as the Barbados Ecolodge & Eco StayBus are in 'rural' Barbados. We can assist with this, if you ask us. Mosquito netting is provided for all beds, though we rarely get any bugs here!
