Luxury Lakefront Paradise with Private Beach
This home we call “Loon Bluff” is a new lakeside retreat. Beautifully furnished, the house boasts a chef’s kitchen, 2 living rooms with large TV’s, and comfortable beds. On the lake, you'll find a private sandy beach, watercraft, a kitchenette, and a large fire pit for cozy conversation. Loon Bluff is the perfect choice for those seeking the quintessential Maine lake experience while enjoying the luxury of a 5-star resort. Also available for weddings, films and television shoots. The space It's hard to imagine a prettier property than Loon Bluff. The home is set on a lovely, wooded lot on Square Pond, a large and pristine lake backed by the foothills of Western Maine. The views from the house are stunning. In the 4,000-square-foot main house, you’ll find plenty of space for a lively gathering or quiet time. Cook a gourmet meal for your loved ones. Share a bowl of popcorn as you watch your favorite sports team on the 77" TV. Play a game of foosball or Yahtzee. Take a relaxing nap on one of the 3 large beds or the comfy sectional. Get some sun on the deck or enjoy your favorite beverage on the covered porch. Venture outside to descend the stairs to Square Pond where, in warmer months, you’ll have access to a lakeside summer kitchen, fully equipped with a half-bath. You’ll be able to chill beverages in its full-size refrigerator and prep food for grilling. Several enjoyable activities await you at the lakeside. Don a life vest and grab one of the 2 tandem kayaks or SUPs for some peaceful rowing time on the lake. Walk over to the sandy beach for a refreshing swim or wading experience. Head out on the dock to enjoy the full breadth of the lake’s magnificent views. Or simply relax on the deck. In the evening, light up the large fire pit for s’mores and a good ghost story. Loon Bluff’s location in Western Maine is where nature reigns and where wilderness experiences abound. A short drive can take you to hiking and water trails, mountains with views, birding sites, and stands of old growth trees and forests. In the winter, many of these areas offer opportunities for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing (which is also available in the backyard on Square Pond). Three great ski areas - Cranmore Mountain, Gunstock, and Pleasant Mountain – are within an hour's drive. Whatever the season, both magic and nature will unfold before you and provide lifelong memories for family and friends. Guest access Guests have use of the entire property, except locked closets or the space above the garage. The lakeside summer kitchen, watercraft, and grill are not available to guests from November through the end of April. Other things to note Mission and Values Our mission is simple: to provide relaxing, high-end hospitality in a manner that is enjoyable, sustainable, responsible, and safe. Our values are clear: * Respect and protect the natural environment through responsible practices and product selection * Promote Maine’s economy by favoring local businesses for goods and services * Engage in the local community to support mission-aligned organizations * Promote the health and safety of guests and service providers * Partner with service providers who are committed to Loon Bluff’s mission. Welcome All guests are provided with: - a welcome bag with a sample of Maine-made treats - 2 tandem kayaks and 2 SUP's, all with paddles - Life vests: 6 adult, 2 youth, 2 child, 1 infant (must be worn at all times while on kayaks and SUPs) - Beach towels & umbrellas - BBQ tools - Popcorn popper (air) - Gourmet teas - Spices (Garlic, Onion & Chili Powders, Parsley, Cinnamon, Italian Seasoning, Salt, Pepper) - Sugar & Truvia sweetener - Wine Vinegar & Olive Oil - Cooking oil (flavor neutral, such as safflower) - Courtesy supply of menstrual products Environmental Stewardship We have a deep and abiding respect for the natural environment and a strong desire for peaceful co-existence with our human and wildlife neighbors. We hope our guests share this passion. We have made efforts to supply the home with minimal plastic and paper goods, with plant-based cleaners, and with solar and Dark Sky outdoor lighting. Our stewardship of the lake requires us to avoid fertilizers, pesticides and waste near the shoreline. We provide kayaks and SUPs not only for fun, but also to avoid the inadvertent introduction of invasive lake plants that can be carried from other lakes and ponds. Therefore, we do not allow guests to bring their own boats, rafts or other watercraft to the property. Accessibility Access to the house and lakeside requires the ability to safely navigate stairs, some narrow spaces, and unpaved grounds. Pets The acceptance of a pet is subject to screening and approval. Guests must supply pet supplies, including "poop bags" for the proper collection and disposal of pet waste. Liability and Indemnification Guests are expected to sign a waiver of liability and indemnification of the owners before arrival and check in.
