Home is located on the last canyon with some of the deepest fishing pools on the Middle Fork River. Please keep children under tight watch. The space Mangy Moose Lodge is a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath house with an optional 4th bedroom 1 bath BUNKROOM just outside the Main House. The Main house sleeps 8, and the BUNKROOM sleeps 4. The bunkroom is available for an additional charge.(Bunkroom not available in Winter) The property sits 100 feet above the Middle Fork River on the canyon edge. There is a footpath about a city block long that takes you down to the river's edge. The path can be difficult in some areas and small children, older people and people with physical limitations may have difficulties reaching the water. There is 450' of riverfront with some of the best fly fishing in Montana. This property has been privately owned for over 35 years and is now available to share. In the early 1920's, the property's road used to be the sole public roadway leading to the entrance of Glacier park! Guest access The entire 1800 square foot house and attached 400 square foot deck are all yours to enjoy. If you rent with over 8 people, you have access to the BUNKROOM, or if you have less than 8 and want the BUNKROOM contact me. There is also a large gazebo patio and deck just below the house overlooking the beautiful river and canyon for your enjoyment. The property also has another home on it. It is a studio apartment called the Mini Mangy that sleeps up to 4. If you want the entire property to yourself, talk to me about renting the Mini Mangy Moose. *You have private space for each unit at the river marked either Main Mangy or Mini Mangy.* ***To access the river via the footpath, it is highly recommended that you wear good walking shoes. The path has elevation changes, tree roots, rocks, and uneven surfaces that can be a tripping hazard. Use the stairs down to the river at your own risk.*** The trash shed is on the side of the house and must be shut and locked due to bear activity. You will be given the front door code and directions prior to your arrival. The garage is owners use only. There is a covered carport to the right of the house. There is another cabin on the property that can be rented, or may be occupied by another party during your stay, and also a new glamp tent further up the hill that may also be rented. No trailers allowed. ***The owners sometimes use the “rock house” down towards the river so they may be on the property on occasion during your stay.*** **If you are caught with a pet in any of the buildings, you will be charged a $500 fee.** Other things to note There is occasional bear activity on the property. No Pets on the property. The Mangy Moose is usually booked back to back, meaning cleaners have just from 11-4 pm the day you check in to get it perfect for your stay, so early check-in is not possible. Thank you for understanding! No fireworks and no wood fires. We supply Bear Spray because it is costly to guests, but please leave it for the next guest to use. We do not supply fishing equipment. There is a Walmart and Cabelas in Kalispell. **Glacier Park has a ticketing system for entry on Going to the Sun Road, so please research and see our guidebook for more information. The property is large and there is another rental on the property. Guests at the Mangy have private use of the gazebo area and attached patio/lounge space. **Limited guest events may be possible with an event fee and booking the other unit on the property. You must inquire.** ***During Winter stays, you won't be able to access the river and most likely the lower decks. Ice and snow makes it too dangerous.
