Conveniently located between Bremerton and Silverdale, Halcyon House makes an ideal home base for exploring the Kitsap Peninsula and beyond, though we won’t blame you if you if you hardly leave the property…. The space Upon entering Halcyon House you’ll be greeted by the front living and dining area. With a cozy gas fireplace, 43” LCD Smart TV and views across the deck out to the water, this area is an alternate hangout space from the light-drenched living room off the kitchen. The dining table easily seats 6-8 people, so meals together are a breeze. Just beyond this area is the tiled laundry/mud room and a bathroom with a shower, ideal for when you’ve just gotten out of the swimming pool and want to rinse off. Entering the bright and roomy kitchen, you’ll be greeted by abundant natural light and stunning views out of the many windows. This space was made for gathering, with stools at the counter, a smaller round table for four, two dedicated beverages refrigerators and an undercounter ice maker for all the fun drinks that you can dream up. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes suitable for outdoor dining, plus a myriad of tools and cooking utensils. The sunken living room is an extension of this space and offers a 55” LCD Smart TV that can be swiveled for optimal viewing from anywhere. Built-in shelves are stocked with books, games, and puzzles for old-school, low-tech entertainment. Rain or shine, this thoughtfully designed space will allow you to kick back, relax and just enjoy the stunning views. From the kitchen you’ll have direct access to the spacious deck, complete with a dining table that seats 8 and a propane BBQ grill. The bedrooms are situated on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen, adjacent to the front living area. The bedroom wing contains two bedrooms and a shared bathroom with a soaking bathtub/shower combo. The smaller bedroom features a king size bed, while the larger bedroom offers a king size bed and a twin daybed, with views of the water. The primary ensuite is the sole room upstairs and features a king size bed, bathroom with double sinks and a shower, large walk-in closet, wall-mounted television, and outstanding views from the second-floor vantage point. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home, except for one locked closet. The detached garage and storage shed are not accessible to guests. Other things to note Swimming Pool: Pool Open Season: May 24 - October 1, 2024 The large, heated swimming pool is a rare amenity in this part of the world, so this is truly a special opportunity for summer fun in a stunning location! We cannot guarantee that the weather will be nice enough for swimming during your stay. Summer weather in this region can be unpredictable, so please do your research and manage your expectations for the outside temps. The swimming pool temperature will be maintained at approximately 78°-82°F during the open season. The pool is not enclosed by a fence and gate, but by a very heavily rated and code-approved retractable pool cover. The pool cover is operated with a keypad, the code for which will only be provided once proof of a signed waiver has been sent to the host. The pool cover should only be operated by a responsible adult. Guests must agree to abide by the swimming pool rules, the most important of which is that the pool cover remain closed when the pool is not in use. The property is not fenced, so guests with small children must be vigilant while at the front of the property that’s nearest to the road. When you’re inside the house the road noise is minimal to non-existent, though upstairs in the primary ensuite the noise can be more audible. The road noise is also hardly noticeable from the pool deck part of the yard. Parking: The driveway is spacious and can easily accommodate up to 6 vehicles if some of them are parked in a tandem formation. Guests must respect the shared entry with the neighbor’s driveway, and not allow cars to spill out of the designated guest parking areas onto the neighbor’s property. Miscellaneous: Halcyon House is set up for a maximum occupancy of 7 adults. Small children who co-sleep or use a travel style crib, are not included in this number. However, we don’t supply travel cribs, so you’ll need to bring your own.
