Casa Viva is a unique, and completely private "container" cabin to enjoy with your friends, family and loved ones. It is located in Bahia Ballena ("Whale Bay") on the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Surrounded by vast nature, you will enjoy the sounds of the brilliantly colored macaws and toucans, watch the monkeys up close, and may even spy a sloth in the trees, all while immersed in the tropical green lushness of the jungle but also a few steps from the beach. The easy stroll to the beach is only 150 meters (roughly 1 block). During migratory times of the year (August through mid-November and January through March), Casa Viva is ideally located for whale watching excursions. Casa Viva offers a craftsman approach to the novelty of the container concept, providing artistic flair such as a colorful fish tank, a wooden pallet lamp, deep outside wall lighting for a splash of color during the evening, and a deck where you can sit and enjoy nature. However, careful attention has also been taken to ensure comfort, space and functionality. Enormous windows (floor to ceiling) make you part of nature and the fact that Casa Viva is a standalone place offers rarely found privacy that deepen the connection to the environment. The two bedrooms within Casa Viva have new mattresses (one double in the master room, two single in the second room), and can accommodate 5 individuals total as there is also a sofa in the living room. It has a dining room and kitchen (equipped with appliances - including a microwave, small refrigerator, stove, and coffee pot, utensils, plates and glasses/mugs, and cooking necessities). There is a large bathroom, with hot water and a shower, which comes equipped with soap, tissue paper and towels. We also offer air conditioning, Cable TV, and shelving for personal belongings. Casa Viva is located approximately half a mile from the highway, and is easily accessible without requiring 4x4 vehicle. It has private parking. The owner speaks Spanish and English. Nearby attractions include: Whales, Whale Tail Beach, Moses path, Uvita waterfall, myriad lookouts, Bahia Ballena National Park, Caves at Ventanas Beach, Manuel Antonio National Park (1 hour drive), Osa Peninsula and Drake Bay (2 hour drive). If you visit during February, you might even catch the Envision Festival!
