"Wow, wow, wow...11 out of 5 stars" "I couldn't wait to write this review! This place isn't a house, it is a home! We absolutely loved our time here!! It's so beautiful and comfortable and unique." "This property is absolutely breathtaking." "We loved it so much we want to make it an annual event!" "One of the best Airbnb stays ever!" The space 90 minutes from DC our newly renovated 1855 farmhouse and cottage in the Shenandoah Valley offer stunning mountain views, Stoney Creek River frontage known for fly fishing, and cozy spaces to enjoy a retreat away from the city. Greener Acres offers breathtaking views of Shenandoah Valley and is only a short walk from the quaint town of Edinburg. Nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, our farmhouse is right in between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Alleghany Mountains, offering wonderful hiking and outdoor activities. Located close to the historic Edinburg Mill and Restaurant (dating to 1848) and along Stoney Creek, the property is surrounded by a 500 acre working farm. The tranquil Stoney Creek, known for its bountiful trout, offers a haven for fly fishing enthusiasts and kayakers alike. Recently renovated, the pet-friendly farmhouse includes a gourmet kitchen and dining room big enough for the whole family and friends. Relax and cozy up with a book or glass of wine by one of the two wood-burning fireplaces on the first floor. Ascending to the upper level, a large sunroom bathed in an abundance of light awaits, serving as both a versatile workspace and a serene retreat to savor the views of the farm and the mountains beyond. The cottage is a separate house on the property. It was originally the cookhouse for the farmhouse and has been thoughtfully reimagined and appointed to provide for every modern convenience while maintaining its historic details. The historic barn has been removed and its foundation now serves as an elegant patio, equipped with a grill, outdoor dining for eight, with string lights and firepit. When ripe, please help yourself to the garden’s fresh herbs, fruits and veggies. Please feel free to use the kayaks in Big Stoney Creek and the kayaks and canoe in the Shenandoah (Chapman’s Landing boat launch is just five minutes from the house - check out the old swinging bridge on the way there!). We ask that you please use the lifejackets provided.
