Living room, kitchen, dining , 2 bedrooms (1 king, 2 full), enclosed front porch, laundry room and full bath on the main level, easy access, with no steps to enter the home. 1 bedroom (2 twins), study, and small full bath on upper level with stairs. The house sits on approximately 1/2 acre and is fenced-in. The lawn is flat and mowed with lots of room for your children to play and your dogs (2 dogs, maximum) to play. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Patio is a relaxing place to congregate around the firepit with your friends and plan your upcoming activities! A small bundle of firewood will be left for your use. The enclosed front porch features 2 very comfy rockers, desk, games for all ages! The twin bedroom, a small full bath, and study is located upstairs. This property is located on a flat lot off a state-maintained road. This is important in the mountains during the winter as the roads are plowed constantly, allowing you, our guests, to have a safe drive to the ski slopes - with Sugar Mountain Ski Resort only 10 miles away. Beech Ski Resort is 18 miles away but requires a steep, curvy drive up Beech Mountain so we usually suggest that our guests ski Beech if the roads aren't icy; otherwise, ski Sugar for icy days. 2 foam sleds will be left for our guests to use as well as 2 plastic sleds that can be taken off the property to Beech's Sled Hill (see my guidebook) Other things to note This home comes with Internet & WiFi and most streaming channels as well as live tv! Enjoy our HULU, Netflix, Apple TV, Prime Video, MAX, Disney+, Live Tv with YouTubeTV, where you'll be able to watch all your NFL teams play as well as catch up with local news out of Charlotte, NC. There are 2 Smart TVs located on the 1st floor and 1 Smart TV located upstairs. Internet/WIFI is supplied by Spectrum. We're located in the middle of some of the most exciting activities around! A booklet will be left for you, detailing all that's around. Walkable to restaurants and shops. A beautiful pool (during summer months) is less than a mile away, open to the public. YMCA is about a 5 minute drive and it DOES have an indoor pool. This YMCA also recognizes a "reciprocal" program, allowing you to use this Y for free if you're home YMCA is recognized. Indoor pickleball courts are also on the Y's property. This property is located on a large/1/2 acre flat-mowed yard that is fenced-in. Hiking, skiing - just a short drive away! Note that all our towels, bed linens, mattress covers, blankets are all white and all of these are laundered after each guest checks out, assuring our guests a clean home. A "corn hole" set is available (for free) for our guests to use. Please ask in advance of your stay and it will be placed inside your mud room. Note that it's not to be left outside overnight or in the rain but other than that, it's fun for the entire family. The limit of "6 guests" does not apply to babies/toddlers who will not be using the beds but their own beds, brought by the guests (pack n plays, etc) SUGAR MTN. SKI Resort Opening Date is set for Dec. 6, 2024 however, opening & closing dates for ski resorts are subject to change. Normally, ski resorts would open for Thanksgiving week but due to Hurricane Helene's destructive "ride" through NC, opening has been pushed back by 1 week. Sugar Mtn. is known for its extensive snow-making system but the average of 78" of NATURAL powder falls each season! Only 10 miles from Cranberry Cottage! The cottage is located on a flat exit onto a state-maintained road, making the drive to the ski slopes easy! BEECH MTN. SKI Resort is set to open Nov. 29! Both of these ski resorts are fantastic! Please note that if you're looking to ski at both, choose a day that doesn't have snow on the road to ski at Beech as the drive up to Beech climbs significant elevation; otherwise, choose Sugar as the road is more or less flat and easier to drive. Both resorts offer tubing, sledding, snowshoeing. Please contact both in advance if you're looking to take lessons in the ski schools.
