ABOUT YELLOW TAIL CABIN Yellow Tail Cabin is located on a quaint private road just above Lake Cushman in a gorgeous forest setting and is only five miles from the hip little town of Hoodsport. With a convenient private dock, you'll be able to access Lake Cushman for boating, jetskiing or kayaking. Or take your fishing rod down to see if you can get the kokanee or cutthroats to bite. Enjoy the living room, with its comfy recliner and sectional sofa, with pull-out bed. In the evening, light up the gas fireplace to take off the chill and relax with a book or enjoy a movie with the family on the flat screen, smart tv. The room's slider opens onto the deck, where you'll find the propane bbq and outdoor dining furniture. The kitchen is equipped well enough to cook your feast and bake dessert, including a full complement of appliances, pots, pans and dinnerware. For us, having a dock right on Lake Cushman was clutch. The water was a little chilly for swimming, but we didn't mind since it was 80 degrees outside. We enjoyed how quiet it was in the evenings sitting out on the deck for dinner while listening to songbirds in the trees. Two rooms have queen-sized beds and the other one has a queen and a twin. There's also a pull out couch in the living room. Clean linens and towels are provided for your stay. Try your boots on a tough day hike up Mount Rose, Summit Mount Washington or take an afternoon stroll on one of many riverside trails like the Staircase Rapids Loop.
