Gaze at the river from bed, drink your morning coffee on the deck, read in the nook, or say hi to nearby farm animals. GreenHouse offers coziness & nature immersion in the heart of the majestic Columbia River Gorge. Nestled into an 80 acre family homestead, you're surrounded by views of mountains, water, forests and meadows. Walk the pleasant mile to small town Stevenson for ultra-local adventures, savor a quiet base camp for outings in the larger Gorge, or relish the peace of staying put. The space Fresh, elegant, and simple, GreenHouse is a peaceful gathering spot with hardwood floors, abundant natural light, and comfortable common areas with an open floor plan. Two of four bedrooms open onto a generous deck overlooking the river. One has a dedicated work space. The home has two well-equipped kitchens (one upstairs, one downstairs). The downstairs can function as an independent flat, with its own entrance. A mudroom with full laundry facilities provides easy access to the backyard and beyond. The larger homestead has fruit trees, flowers, forests, meadows, and rustic trails. The property has additional AirBnB spaces and can occasionally accommodate retreats or very small weddings. Guest access GreenHouse sits near the end of a private country lane, with plenty of parking and easy front door access. Other things to note We want our place to be a refuge for you and all residents of the homestead - human and animal! As you turn onto the private lane, please reduce speed and DRIVE VERY SLOWLY. Watch for animals and children and prepare for a gentler pace. :) Please also watch for animals beneath parked cars when you leave! We steward both land and water - from our beloved spring. Please practice WATER CONSERVATION especially June through October. During those same months all of the Gorge is at risk of fire - please NO FIRES of any kind. No smoking/vaping anywhere. We absolutely love animals, but please NO PETS. We can't accommodate them with our own cast of animal characters (see photos!). We hope you'll enjoy meeting new friends: our dogs Lomi, our young gentle giant of a livestock guardian; and Nino, devoted German Shepherd companion. Crystal and Layla, our hair sheep, live in the nearby meadow. They idolize the horses, Comet and Sahara, who come to stay spring through fall. Some of our friendly cats may say hello while out on a wander. Please turn out lights when you are not using them, especially the outside lights once you’ve arrived home at night – we aim for darker skies and brighter STARS. This is a peaceful space. No parties or loud music. That said, it is not perfectly quiet here: the country soundscape may include the train whistle, sheep's baaas, dogs barking, coyotes howling, and children's play, along with the birds and the breezes. Our family has lived here and loved this place for over 50 years.
