Escape to this charming 700 sq. ft. mountain retreat overlooking Jacks Mountain Preserve - an old golf course turned nature preserve. Perfect for small families or couples, this cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bath home features modern comforts and decor, 4 beds total, a fully equipped (and then some) kitchen, and reliable internet. The space The Perch is located on our 2.5 acre property, directly behind our home. Our property overlooks an old golf course, turned nature preserve and has year-round mountain views and magnificent night skies. The home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom space with a full kitchen, living room with a queen-sized pullout sleeper couch, a dining area, work area, and laundry room. The entire space is about 700 sq. feet. There are two porches - one overlooking the pool and mountains and another looking toward the fire pit and nearly 500 acres of undeveloped forest. Each room has a 32 inch TV and we equip them with Hulu LiveTV, Disney+ and ESPN. In addition to the firepit, we offer a charcoal grill, a tandem kayak, a single kayak, a canoe and the pool is available for use in the on-season. We do rent out our pool out by the hour to the community via an app called Swimply, so we just ask that we stay in communication about when you wish to swim and we'll communicate when it is reserved. Even during the off-season our pool bar, which features a fridge, TV, grill, music system and outdoor bathroom is an awesome spot to hangout. - 30 minutes to downtown Asheville (parts of Asheville are open to support from visitors) - 15 minutes to downtown Black Mountain (open to support from visitors) - 10 minutes to the Gateway trail system or Catawba Falls trailhead (both currently closed due to Helene) - 35 minutes to Lake James - 45 minutes to Linville Gorge, the Grand Canyon of the East Guest access The entire rental space is yours to utilize as well as both the front and back yard. We do utilize the yard between the rental and the pool. The pool space (even in the off-season) is also available for guests with prior communication. Other things to note - While we let our AirBnb guests use our pool, we also rent it out to the community by the hour on a platform called Swimply. All we ask is that we stay in communication about if/when you'd like to use the pool and we'll also communicate when we have it reserved. - The home is up a somewhat steep gravel drive. We have never had a guest unable to make it, but please note that it is gravel and there is a brief incline. - While we do allow pets in the rental, we do have 2 dogs of our own and there are also two extremely friendly outdoor cats that live on the property. - Please make sure that every guest staying the night (including pets) is included in the reservation. There are external cameras so additional, unregistered guests will incur a $100 fee. Friends and family are welcome to visit, of course. All products used in our rental (cleaning supplies, soaps, detergents, provided hygiene products, etc.) are chemical free and organic. Please make sure you review our cancelation policy prior to booking. We strongly encourage purchasing trip insurance, as we follow our policies very closely.
