Other things to note The property is bucolic and the house warm and charming . Everyone who has visited has commented on what a beautiful property and setting and house The Wellington House is. Other things to note The house was built circa 1860 and although fully updated still has some original antique farmhouse features including fairly steep stairs to upstairs hallway and bedrooms . The stairs have padded continuous carpeting up them along with full bannister and hand rail . I want guests with any walking impairment to be aware of this old feature in the house . You can see a photo of the stairs in the dining room photo as the stairs go up from that room. We have window air conditioners in each bedroom but not in the downstairs. The downstairs stays quite cool and we have fans for the living room, dining room and kitchen. Regarding riding : Although my farm has horses I do not offer riding for guests . However, there is a nearby stable that has suitable horses for novice riders and offers trail rides and beginner lessons. Regarding hiking : The farm abuts hundreds of acres of State Conservation and Wildlife land that allows hiking and hunting (permitted during seasons for pheasant, turkey, and deer) Regarding fishing : We have some fishing poles guests can borrow to fish in the pond . Worms can be purchased at the general store in town . Pickerel, Pike, Trout, Sunfish are some of the fish that live in the 3 acre pond .
