Upon your arrival at your Cozy Country Home, you will be greeted with a homemade treat of choice. “R” town, Ramona, is true small town America. Retreat to a place of peace and quiet, to rejuvenate, to spend some time hiking numerous trails, wine tasting at one of the 14 local wineries or maybe antiquing on Main St. Please note before bring a service animal, that we have a dog not used to other animals and is not animal social so please communicate with us so proper arrangements can be made. The space Our Cozy Country Home has vaulted ceilings throughout and large picture and accent windows. The living room/dining room has a couch and side table with an enclosed charging station, a comfortable chair, TV, CD player, and a designated workspace on the nearby dining table. Prime, Roku, Fubo, Britbox, Acorn, Masterpiece available for viewing. Puzzles, games, and cards provided. Dining and serving dishes, wine, water and juice glasses. The streamlined kitchen design has a full size stove and refrigerator and lots of counter and storage space. Regular coffee maker and a Kurig with pods, sugar, creamers, and tea provided. A full set of pots, pans, utensils, silverware and linens as well as spices, salt, pepper, flour and sugar are ready for your cooking needs. A comfortable large shower space with shampoo, rinse, body wash, body lotion, Hair dryer, toothpaste and linens. Bedroom with a 10 foot closet and drawers underneath, firm Serta double bed mattress, sheets, blankets, extra quilt and pillows along with room darkening drapes and quiet country nights will ensure your comfort. Large overhead fans in bedroom and living room. Guest access Our Cozy Country home is located on the very back of our 1/2 acre. The property is situated so that there is a front and back access. Our private residence is fenced off from the back of the property and there is a vegetable garden and fruit trees in between. There is rock ground cover around the home which designates it's footprint. Guests have access to orange and Texas grapefruit trees out their back door and other fruits and vegetables in season. You will drive around to your private entrance and you may park inside or outside the gate. Other things to note Nestled in the foothills above Escondido, Poway, and El Cajon, you will find the Santa Maria Valley, where R town is located. Thursday evening during the summer head into town for cruise night to watch antique cars, motorcycles and hot rods from all over the county cruise up and down Main Street, then down to Albertsons parking lot for excellent barbecue . Check out Ramona Main stage for different concerts and their midget wrestling show. Bring your bicycles or walking sticks as you wander the local preserves where you will see raptor birds such as the giant Golden Eagle, Red Tail Hawks, Falcons, and Sparrowhawks. Be sure to grab breakfast at the Ramona Café or Kountry Kitchen before you stroll through many antique and thrift stores along Ramona’s Main Street. October is “Apple Days” in Julian so head up the windy scenic roads to the historic gold mining town. Stop at Dudley's Bakery in Santa Ysabel on the way and be sure to take home choice breads baked fresh daily. There’s a camel farm before Santa Ysabel, which is a fun stop but be sure to make reservations before hand. In Julian, the Julian Pie Company is the place to go for a delicious fresh baked piece of pie topped with cinnamon ice cream. You can also go on a gold mine tour while you’re up in Julian or just meander down the street for shopping in numerous specialty shops. Then, on the way back down the hill, stop in Wynola at Jeremy’s On The Hill for the most amazing and beautifully presented dinner in San Diego county! They often host a live band on the weekends. There is a Hard Cider distillery in Wynola as well as a wonderful little candy/bake shop on the way back down the hill to your Tiny Country Home Airbnb but be sure to stop at the Honey Shack for local honey and dates that is open on the weekends. Julian is also famous for "Apple Days" the whole month of October where there is more than just apples. If you want to head east on winding highway 78 toward Escondido, you will run into the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. The Safari Park is home to rhinos, giraffes, Cape buffalos, tigers, lions, zebras and kangaroos all in the wild in habitats close to their native environments. You can schedule behind the scenes tours that are up close and personal with some of the animals while supporting the work they do in protecting endangered species. You can continue east down Del Dios Highway and run into the Del Mar Fairgrounds which houses the horse races (July-September, November), and the famous San Diego Del Mar Fair (June-July 4). Del Mar is on the coast so take some time to walk the beautiful Del Mar Beach.
