It is only 5 minutes from the Clam Gulch Beach, 10 minutes from the Kasilof River, 20 minutes from Soldotna, 30 minutes from Kenai, and 60 minutes from Homer. Let us be your home base while you day trip all over the Peninsula! The space When you stay at Whale of a Tale you will get to experience the peaceful, laid back, unique atmosphere it has to offer. What's ours is yours! This is your home away from home. Your hosts, Shane and Camille, live in the home and are long time residents of the Kenai Peninsula. They love to get to know new people and are excited to show you what it's like to live with the locals. You may share the downstairs unit with fellow guests if the other room downstairs is also booked. The downstairs includes, 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed. A shared living room with a large couch, TV, bathroom, and a game closet. The upstairs boasts a beautiful *shared* kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry room, half bath, and sunroom. There are Breakfast foods available for you to use (Oatmeal, Cereal, eggs, etc.) or you can request a hot breakfast to be made for you with a $20 additional fee per day. It's worth it! :) You are welcome to use the BBQ, and fire pit during your stay. There is a chicken coop in the backyard and you are welcome to collect some fresh chicken eggs for yourself. Feel free to use the small fillet table by the garage if you bring back any fish. *Like any downstairs area, you can sometimes hear the footsteps from people walking around in the shared space above you.* **Please keep in mind there are 2 dogs and cats on site. These animals are friendly and enjoy company, but please do not stay here if you do not like animals or are allergic to animals** While only a quarter mile away from the Sterling Highway, this is a beautiful, private, property tucked away in the Alaskan forest that you are sure to love.
