Our house is fully equipped with all of the comforts to be your home-away-from-home — because it's our home-away-from-home! The first floor is designed for all of your entertainment needs, while the second floor contains the living quarters. The pool is heated and open from May – mid-October. The house boasts beautiful Greek revival detail, painstakingly preserved since the 1700s (see below for our house's unique history) and we're located 5-10 minutes from charming downtown Hudson, NY. The space Overview and Location With five bedrooms, two full baths, and a half bathroom in the main house, there's space to comfortably accommodate 12 people. Details below! The kitchen is fully-equipped with a Viking Range, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, and Whirlpool dishwasher, and there is full laundry (washer/dryer) in the adjoining utility room. We are conveniently located just ~5-10 minutes from charming downtown Hudson, ~25 mins from bustling Rhinebeck and stunning Great Barrington, and ~15 mins from Lake Taghkanic Beach and the Olana State Historic Site. There is also community park with swimmable lake and beach ~3 minutes from the house, skiing/snowtubing within 30 minutes of the house, as well as plenty of local food and attractions. Car is the easiest method of transportation. However, some guests prefer to take the Amtrack train to nearby Hudson, and then use Uber/Lyft to get around. We have ample parking on the estate. Guests will either be met upon arrival to receive keys and receive a tour of the property or will have the option of using a key code to access the home. Early check-in and/or late checkout is available for a fee of $50/hour, up to $400 (availability subject to other reservations). First Floor The first floor contains a spacious Great Room with comfortable plush seating, a 65" Smart TV, equipped with Netflix and Apple TV. Feeling studious or (unfortunately) have to work? Hunker down in the library, which has a sitting area (and a gaming table with Pac-Man, Galaga and other classic games for when you need a break). Our parlor is perfect for congregating away from the TV. The dining room features a massive antique wood table and benches for comfortable banquet-style seating for 12. Our kitchen is fully equipped to be your culinary home away from home, replete with enough cookware and prep space for cooking up a feast. The kitchen also has a cute table/seating nook – perfect for a quick nosh or enjoying your morning coffee. Outside of the kitchen is a utility room with full laundry. Finally, the first floor also half-bathroom. Second Floor The second floor contains five bedrooms -- a spacious master bedroom with a king-sized bed, two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a full bed, and one bedroom with a bunk bed. The second floor also has two full bathrooms. Outdoor Area The pool is heated. The deepest area is 8 ft. Swim diapers are required for infants and toddlers not potty trained. The pool is open until October. Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets in the pool. Unique Features A discerning eye will note that our house is decorated with one-of-a-kind artifacts of American history — my favorite is the tradesman's scale from the 1800s. The second floor has the original chestnut flooring from the 1700s, with original massive wooden planks from when the house was built. When you walk the grounds, don’t miss the house’s fencing, which originally lined the Poughkeepsie Bridge and the original (working!) irrigation system, believed to be one of the few remaining examples of its kind. Relax by the koi pond or read a book in the gazebo — and feel free to grab some grapes from the vines or apples/cherries from the orchard! Guest access Guests will either be met upon arrival to receive keys and receive a tour of the property or will have the option of using a key code to access the home. Other things to note Guest can request early checkin and/or late checkout for a fee of $50 an hour, up to $400. This option will depend on whether or not the home is being reserved prior or after your stay. We are able to provide confirmation 24hours prior.
