We hope you choose to make us your 'home-away-from-home' during your visit! Three Oaks Guest Inn was built in 1915. It is a cozy, fully furnished home with all its original oak woodwork, columns, built-ins & open stairway. Choose from 3 comfortable bedrooms. The nicely decorated dining and living rooms, and fully furnished, modernized kitchen, make it perfect for either large or small groups...quiet family vacations, small meetings, bridal and baby showers, graduation receptions, birthday celebrations, girlfriend/scrap-booking/quilting getaways, family reunions, hunting groups,or any other sort of friendly get-togethers . Three Oaks Guest Inn is a true 'home-away-from-home', however, like most 100+ year old homes, THE BEDROOMS AND BATHROOM ARE ON THE 2ND FLOOR. Also depending on the season, temperature, and humidity, there may be an occasional squeaky floor or door. A second stairway goes from the backyard to the basement, where there is an extra kitchen sink, counter space, and laundry facilities. This makes it ideal for hunters. There is a huge lot for outdoor activities, and several flowerbeds to check out. We are within an easy walking distance to downtown restaurants & pizza places, the Barnes County Historical Society Museum, churches, parks, hiking trails, grocery stores, and other shops. Valley City is on the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway and Three Oaks is one block off the North Country Trail. Relax on the bank of the Sheyenne River and watch the birds, animals, and turtles or light up the fire pit for a memorable evening. Three Oaks Guest Inn has cable TV, wireless internet, and central air, but bedrooms and the family-style bathroom are all on the 2nd floor, so it is not handicap accessible. Rent the main floor for a few hours for a meeting or to celebrate a special occasion, or rent the whole house for a night or a more. Weekly and monthly rates are available for extended stays and vacation rental. Bringing your own towels and linens will get you the best long term rates. There is a $10 fee per person, per night over 6 people. Airbnb collects only the 5.5% state sales tax. Local sales and lodging taxes of 5% are due at check-in. Guests have use of the house and yard, including the outdoor BBQ grill. Guest access We have cable TV, wireless internet and central heating and air conditioning. Guests have the use of the whole main floor and the kitchen is available for them to do whatever cooking they wish. Please do NOT hand wash any dishes. In order to let everyone use the kitchen, all pots, pans, dishes, silverware, sharp knives, etc must be sterilized by running them thru the dishwasher on the 'POWER WASH' cycle, or you can just leave the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and I will run it after you leave. There is a gas BBQ grill and a firepit in the back yard. Guests have access to their own room and the family style bath on the 2nd floor. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the basement Other things to note If you are only looking for one room and the calendar shows the 'whole house' booked, please check the individual rooms for availability. It may be there is only one of the rooms rented, so that would make it impossible for someone else to rent the 'whole' house. However, if someone has already booked just one room, I give them the option to not share the house and bathroom. So far, about 2/3 of guests have been fine with having to share the bathroom.
