Welcome to The White Oak Lodge! We invite you to bring your friends and family and build lasting memories together! When you're at the home, you feel like you're in your own mountain oasis. The unobstructed views from inside and outside the home are breathtaking. Despite feeling like you're the only one on the mountain, the home is located just 20 minutes from West Jefferson and 25 minutes from Boone where you can find amazing restaurants, breweries, shops and other adventures. The New River is a 4 minute drive from the driveway. You can fish, kayak or even float up the river (we provide floats!). The road outside the community is flat, runs along the river and is well paved making it perfect for a walk, run or a bike ride. Golf, hiking, zip lining and many other activities are just minutes away, too! The home offers 6 bedrooms with 4 and 1/2 bathrooms that can accommodate up to 13 guests. Do you have kids? We're ready for them! A Pack 'n Play and a High Chair are available for use as well as kids plates, cups and utensils. A downstairs bonus room is a perfect play area and the (2) bunk beds are perfect place for them to snuggle up at night or for naps. Upstairs they'll find a fun nook (with a window) that houses children's toys for their creative minds to run wild! Main Level: There are 2 bedrooms, 1 with king bed and 1 with a single bed, on the main floor. The primary bedroom has an en suite full bathroom with a huge walk in shower. The open-concept kitchen has everything you need to cook a delicious meal for your family and friends. All the classic appliances are there for your use: Fridge, Oven, Microwave and Dishwasher. The kitchen houses a blender, crockpot, toaster, coffee maker, grilling utensils, pots, pans, baking sheets, spices and more! There is a propane grill just outside on the porch for you to use as well. There are numerous seating options: a breakfast nook has a table for 4, the porch has a table for 4, the bar will seat 3 and the dining room table will seat 8. The living room has large windows that bring in a ton of natural light and plenty of comfortable seating for conversation and watching TV on Roku. Exit out onto the porch to enjoy the views from the wrap around porch. Grab your coffee (or wine!) and settle in the rocking chairs and let all your worries drift away. A half bath is also situated on the main floor. Lower Level: As you travel downstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms, 1 with a king bed, 1 with 2 sets of bunk beds. One bunk bed has a full on the bottom. There is a full bathroom in the basement as well as a laundry room for your use. Enjoy a friendly game of billiards and/or ping pong or settle on the couch and enjoy your favorite movie or TV show on our Roku. Exit directly out onto the deck which houses the 6-person hot tub. Upper Level: As you travel upstairs, you will enter a loft area with comfortable seating. A great place to cozy up and read! There is a children's play nook with toys for your little ones. On either side of the loft, there is a bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have queen beds and plenty of space for your clothes and other items. Outside: The decks are the perfect place to soak in the amazing view that The White Oak Lodge has to offer! Enjoy the mountain air and adore the views. Lounge in the rocking chairs, soak in the 6-person hot tub or venture down to the wood burning fire pit for some evening relaxation! There is a 3 night minimum for all reservations. Check in time is 4:00 pm or after and check out time is 10:00 am. NO smoking is allowed inside our rental! Please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The home is accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter. Other things to note NO Smoking! The indoor fireplace is not available for use by the guests. As is typical with many mountain communities, there is no trash service, so you are responsible for disposing of the trash. There are no outside trash bins, either (bears!). Ashe County has several Convenience Centers where trash can be disposed. The closest one to the house is 14 minutes away en route to West Jefferson. The cleaning crew will not remove your trash. Do not leave trash outside (bears!). We typically bring our trash when headed to the grocery store (in West Jefferson) – the convenience center is on the way. When we head home, we either drive to the convenience center or put it in our car for the ride home.
