This artful mid century gem is charming, colorfully decorated + family friendly Gwinn is both tucked away + centrally located with easy access to a plethora of Upper Michigan’s most beloved locations, but plenty of simple joys within mere miles of your home away from home ORV/snowmobile access down the street. Quick walk from downtown + Escanaba river. Lake Superior is 25 mins away Your neighborhood is child friendly + safe with minimal traffic and a fenced in backyard. The space Built in 1920 and beloved ever since, this house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer (central air!). With attention to detail, antique adornments make each room a statement. You’ll love this step back in time. Bring your own firework and have a bonfire in the backyard fire pit surrounded by outdoor string lights, six comfy outdoor chairs and a few little tables for your food and drinks. Our place is perfect for stargazing. With sun and shade gardens and flowerbeds to admire, you’ll enjoy having a backyard to sunbathe in and trees to take shelter beneath during the summer months. Guest access Parking anywhere in front of the house is permissible. Guests will follow the walkway along the right side of the house to the back entry with motion lights. Door is keypad entry. Other things to note Our kitchen is stocked with a wide range of pots and pans including options such as nonstick, stainless steel and cast iron, as well as baking sheet, pizza pan, strainer, mixing bowls and more. We provide a small variety of spices and a drip coffee maker. Help yourself to complimentary coffee, creamer and other delights and snacks. Please note that both full sized beds are in separate bedrooms on the main level. The first bedroom includes the workspace with a desk and this room comes directly off the kitchen. You must walk through this room to get to the second full sized bed bedroom. Upstairs are two twin beds. This room is slower to heat or cool and so upstairs you will find a plug in heater and portable fans. Keeping the shade down helps maintain desirable temperatures. Only run the heater while the room is in use and remember to both turn it off and unplug it before exiting this space. The bathroom light is outside the bathroom door (quirky old house things) and a light above the shower can be turned on with the switch to the left of the shower. To the right of the shower is a switch for the fan. The bathroom will be stocked with six large towels under the sink, at least six wash cloths, and a few hand drying towels. If you need more towels than that, please bring yourself some extras. TV is not listed as an amenity but we do have one. There is no remote and guests may use their own HDMI cable to connect their own devices to it. There is no cable, local channels or Bluetooth. Underneath the second full sized bed is a fold up treadmill guests may use. Extension cord and accessories can be found in the top drawer of the taller dresser.
