The Hummingbird house was built in 2017, nestled in Tongass National Rainforest. Cathedral ceiling, natural light surrounded by cedar trees with a filtered ocean view. Feels like you're tucked away in a treehouse. We are located across from the beach in a northend neighborhood. We also have a 2017 Jeep Renegade Rental listed on TURO. No smoking or vaping permitted. Local sales tax is 2.5% & transient occupancy tax of 4.0%. By U.S. General Services Admin for federal employee AK5107. The space The entire house is yours!!! Plus a fire pit, BBQ, and ample parking. Two fishing poles are available for your use. We do not provide any other gear. Please note: There is an owner-occupied shop/garage attached. Guest access The bike trail is at the bottom of Beachwood and leads to the beach and Totem Bight National Park with Totem Poles and Long House. There is a small local grocery store and gas station 0.5 miles south. We are ~10 miles from downtown Ketchikan. A car is recommended. Knudsen Cove Marina is a few miles north and a fantastic spot to grab a skiff rental, charter a fishing trip, rent a kayak, get a cup of coffee, burger, beer, or sit on a dock and watch the whales and sea life. Rufus Hummingbirds migrate through the island March-May most years. Other things to note We have a small dog named Daisy, a lab mix named Willow, and a small flock of friendly chickens (6). The chickens occasionally free-range, as do the pups. They like to greet the guests. Fresh organic eggs are included as supply allows. No smoking or vaping of anything is allowed in or on the property. If you have any concerns with the chickens or pups, we are happy to keep them gated. Please let us know before your arrival. We can't make the same promises for the deer or the bear that wander through the property. Rufous Hummingbirds migrate through the island from March to May for most years.
