After a long day of rafting, hiking, fishing, bear viewing, horseback riding or air tours relax in a newly rebuilt wood burning log steam bath. Then enjoy a warm fire and cold brew around the fire pit yards from the river. This unique property is fenced offering complete privacy and quiet. A fully equipped modern kitchen with hardwood floors, complete cookware and dinnerware supplies, natural wood countertops, breakfast bar seating, stainless steel refrigerator, stove and dishwasher allows the chef to whip up a quick breakfast or prepare a feast. Open timbered pine vaulted ceilings offer a panoramic view of the Kenai River and Sheep Mountain. While enjoying your morning cup of coffee look for seasonal migratory mergansers, northern pintails, American wigeon, terns, mallards, trumpeter swans, bald eagles and mountain sheep. A cultivated lawn, walkways flower pots and beds, hanging baskets, apple trees and Alaska raspberry bushes provide colorful touches of warmth and beauty throughout the property. Enjoy the plentiful hiking trails nearby. A short drive to Resurrection Pass Trail, Juneau Creek Falls, Cooper Landing Cliffs, Russian River Trail, Crescent Lake Trail, Cooper Lake Trail to Cooper Dam, Johnson Pass Trail, Carter Lake and only an hour away is the majestic 14 mile-long crystal clear Skilak Lake fed by nearby glaciers perfect for hiking or fishing. Always stay alert for bears and wildlife. Look for moose along the road in early morning or dusk. Take sightseeing, dining and shopping trips to Seward, Soldotna and Homer, halibut capital of the world. Don’t feel like cooking? Visit the many restaurants and cafes all within a short drive. A gas station, gift shop, and general store are a short walk away to pick up those last-minute gift, food or personal items. Their family may respectfully use the steam bath/sauna from time to time. Chris or Mezel will give you a warm Alaskan welcome and are available to answer any questions about the history and surrounding country of the awe-inspiring and world class Kenai River. Beginning in 2025, a play and recreational area with games such as badminton and croquet will be available. Other things to note Two night minimum stay is required.
