The Zen Garden Inn is situated in one of St. Charles oldest and most beautiful buildings. The cottage dates back approximately 100 years, making it a contemporary of the Arcada Theatre, the Hotel Baker, and other local historic favorites. Rest and retreat in a fully furnished 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom upper apartment, that has been decorated with love and intention to create a peaceful and healing space gently set away from the busy world. The space The apartment is newly remodeled, and fully equipped with anything you might need for an extended stay, like a washer and dryer to keep your clothes clean and fresh. The spacious kitchen has brand new appliances, and is fully stocked with spices, cookware, dishes, Keurig, French Press, and more!! The open concept dining area can seat up to 6 people, plus 3 bench seats located at the island, and is bathed in natural light from windows that allow you to take a closer look at the charming details of this old home, such as the terracotta roofing, and ivy covered walls. The Owners have kept the building in their family for more than 5 decades now, carefully maintaining its award winning gardens while preserving its unique character and eccentric energy. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen beds, Bedroom 1 has two closets with hangers, and a large dresser to store anything that you might need for your stay. Bedroom 2 has a large stand up dress for storage, and behind the bed is a hand-painted mural done by a local artist that offers a tranquil visual to imagine as you drift off to sleep. To top everything off, the bathroom has a large double vanity, with ample counter space, and heated floors so that your feet stay warm on those cold winter mornings! Being walking distance from historic downtown St Charles, you will find plenty of things to explore, and places to eat that will allow you to follow your whimsy, and nurture yourself in all the wonderful ways you desire. Guest access Parking for our guest is on the street on Cedar Ave. with a private entrance to the south side of the home. There is keyless entry with access codes on all doors to the space. After you enter through the stain glass rose door, you will climb a set of stairs that are reminiscent of sneaking through a secret passage. At the top of the stairway, you will be transported to your oasis. This property is not suitable for small children, or those with mobility challenges. There is a parking lot that is solely dedicated to the yoga business downstairs where you will visibly see the Flower of Life Yoga sign. Other things to note The owner of the house lives on the property that hosts the apartment, and there is a yoga studio directly below the apartment that holds sound healings with crystal bowls and other percussion instruments on Tuesday evenings from 6:30PM to 7:30PM that can be bit loud. Of course, you can always drop in and take the class and enjoy a relaxing sound bath to finish off your day, and then return to your get-away for a peaceful night. A schedule of the yoga classes will be provided in the apartment, indicating the start and end times of the weekly sessions.
