The space The barn is conveniently located in town yet still nestled in the woods of the Central Maine Highlands. Peaceful, private & tranquil! Dover-Foxcroft is full of historic and natural attractions, but you may not want to leave the quiet luxury of the River Barn. Some aspects of the space might be challenging for any guests with mobility concerns, specifically steep stairs in a historic property. If you’re looking for adventure in the great outdoors, enjoy fishing just steps away from the barn! We are also only a street or two away from trails which connect all over Maine for ATV travel. We are conveniently located within driving distance to many hiking areas and all that central and northern Maine has to offer. Coastal Bar Harbor is less than two hours away should you want to take a day trip to Acadia National Park! Enjoy the gourmet kitchen and prepare a delicious meal with JennAir and Viking appliances, then dine in front of the lovely fireplace. When you're ready to relax, head upstairs and enjoy the views of the river while curled up with a good book; or enjoy the 85" Sony Smart TV and the leather recliners! After getting some work done at the vintage desk, head up to the loft to soak in the copper tub before a good night's sleep in either the loft bed or the custom Murphy bed. Guest access The River Barn is completely private and guests have full use. There is a private patio space and a fire pit to enjoy. The host family does reside on the property so the rest of our backyard is shared use and we hope guests will enjoy the space and our garden. Other things to note The River Barn is a historic property, full of charming and unique features. It was renovated to provide guests with plenty of space and comfort while creating a cozy atmosphere. There are three levels and being a historic building, the stairs to the second level and loft may be steep for some guests or those who have mobility concerns. There is a queen-sized bed in the loft as well as a queen-sized Murphy bed on the second floor. There is a full bathroom with a rain shower head on the first floor and a half bath on the second floor, as well as a large copper soaking tub in the loft.
