Our breezy bamboo house is located on a large lush farm/forest property 25 minutes outside of Cahuita, in the mountains, along a gravel rural road. We live off the grid, relying upon solar energy and rain water. We have many fruit trees, some farm animals, a beautiful river and waterfall on the property for swimming. With sufficient notice we can offer guests a pick up and return trip to Cahuita. The cost per person includes three tasty meals/day primarily made from our local farm produce. The space This is a space to enjoy the natural beauty of the rainforest without being surrounded by tourists. There is WiFi, but it is limited, so it is an opportunity to be unplugged and immersed in the sounds and delights of the tropics. You can enjoy pure nature in comfort while being less than a 30 minute drive to the beautiful beaches at Cahuita National Park. Guest access Besides their private room, guests will enjoy shared spaces in the house, hammocks, indoor and outdoor showers, use of the washing machine, fridge, paths in the farm, tranquil open covered spaces on the property, trails to the river and waterfall. Other activities such as horseback riding can be available at a cost. During your stay We will provide three daily meals that we will eat together, meals prepared primariy from farm and local produce. Beyond that, guests will have the space to enjoy the beauty of the setting. Guests should notify us of any dietary restrictions. Other things to note The house is not child proof. We live in the rainforest, so precautions such as applying repellent and wearing boots and pants in the jungle are strongly advised. We do have some boots sizes available upon request. We have two friendly dogs but they do not come in the house.
