Great fishing: Base, Pike, Blue Gill, etc. The space Historic waterfront guest house known as 'Tumble Down' with amazing sunsets. Originally built in 1923 by a well-known gentleman who built many field stone cottages in the area, several of which are on West Crooked Lake. Tumble Down is a cozy 1,000 sq foot guest house with two floors: the upper level has 2 bedrooms, family room and access to a private deck with a deep seating area. The lower level has a bathroom, kitchen with breakfast bar, TV family room, dining area (seating for six) and opens to a patio with grill, dining area (seats 8) and Adirondack chairs. Tumble Down cottage sits closest to the water with a private entrance and is located in front of the main house that was added to the property in 2005. Tumble Down is located on low boat traffic, West Crooked Lake with access to East Crooked Lake. Both are all sports lakes. Be sure to explore the secret gnome garden. Courtyard with fountain. Tumble Down has much to offer year-round. Enjoy foliage color in the fall and cross-country skiing and ice fishing on the lake during the winter. The property has magnificent fall colors and several state parks in the area, Kensington Metro Park and Island Lake. 3-mile drive to Mt Brighton for skiing/snowboarding in the winter. Many golf courses, restaurants, shopping, antiquing, etc, are very close by. Inquire for recommendations. Downtown Brighton (4 miles) and Howell (6 miles) offer many events in the summer, including concerts, sidewalk sales, holiday parades, farmers markets, Howell Balloon Festival, Ann Arbor Art Fairs, Brighton Art Festival, Howell Melon Festival, Brighton's Smokin' Jazz & Barbecue Blues Festival, etc. It is a close drive to U-M (30 minutes), MSU (30 minutes), and Detroit (45 minutes), a great place to stay for all college and professional sporting events.
